"Of course.." He rode in the car, silently. Lei seemed to be deep in thought. He smiled a bit at him. "Thanks... For everything. From before mom rescued me... Helping my brother... I appreciate it, since I couldn't be there..." He sighed. "It's been crazy. Why are these terribe people doing these terrible things..?" He asked. He was frustrated. "Mom hasn't done anything wrong to anyone... Well... most people.." He corrected himself.
He looked at Lei, "Is everything okay with you..?"

"Thanks... For everything. From before mom rescued me... Helping my brother... I appreciate it, since I couldn't be there..."
"It's not a problem." Lei gave Daniel a smile.
"It's been crazy. Why are these terrible people doing these terrible things..? Mom hasn't done anything wrong to anyone... Well... most people.."
"Funny story. Did you know that three years ago, your mother and I were both sworn enemies? Well, only because of a career clash. And Nina was my sworn enemy, too. But now we're all peachy and good now. Since... well, I'm an auto mechanic at a garage now. But yes, Anna hasn't done as much as Nina's done. But it still comes to me at a surprise. And it worries me, too. Anna's a tough woman. She gave me a run for my money back in the second tournament. It's not like her to get kidnapped like this..."
"Is everything okay with you..?"
Daniel must have sensed that something was amiss with Lei. He can pick up on people, can't he? "Yeah. Just a little bit of family drama. My brother's just being an asshole towards his only granddaughter, thanks to the one child policy in China. Thank God I moved out of that place. If it were up to me, I'd have at least three kids, but um... that's not going to happen."

"You never know! I'm sorry your brother sucks... I got lucky I guess..." He laughed, rubbing his neck.

"Well, It's no doubt in my mind that she's a strong woman.... but according to my brother she's been sick apparently... That's how all of this Lillian stuff happened. She told me my mom was dying, and I guess she wasn't counting on me to call Sorin..." He then thought for a moment... "Or maybe she did..."
He looked at Lei, "You don't think this is a trap..?" What on Earth did this woman have planned? It almost was like Lillian was asking to get caught. But Why?

"You never know! I'm sorry your brother sucks... I got lucky I guess..."
"I wouldn't call it luck. It's normal to have a fantastic brother, but I honestly don't blame my brother being how he is. I mean, having the only surviving relative pick up a career that got everyone else killed... yeah. But still don't need to banish people."
"Well, It's no doubt in my mind that she's a strong woman.... but according to my brother she's been sick apparently... That's how all of this Lillian stuff happened. She told me my mom was dying, and I guess she wasn't counting on me to call Sorin..."
"Well, that explains it. That basically explains it all."
"You don't think this is a trap..?"
"Of course it's a trap. It's obvious it's a trap. The question is, though... what exactly is going to happen, in said trap. What will it entail?"

"Well... What could she possibly be setting up a trap for..? She could have killed me here... Easily... Why get caught? Why do all of this... Show!?" He was getting even more frustrated. He paused. "What if she doesn't.. actually want to kill us..? What if she wants us captured..? To further the studies..?" He huffed, "But that still doesn't make any sense, because Katya wasn't included, she would have wanted Katya too, I just..."
He sighed, "I wish it was just as simple as her just silently killing us, and moving on..." He frowned, "Maybe she wants it to be as painful for the survivors as possible... Maybe she is right... Maybe we are abominations..."
He clenched his jaw, "I didn't ask to be created like this!!!!"

"Well... What could she possibly be setting up a trap for..? She could have killed me here... Easily... Why get caught? Why do all of this... Show!?"
"Because obviously, she has an obsession. A fixation. I don't know too much about her, but from what I can gather. She's got an unhealthy obsession that turned into madness. Unfortunately, she's very smart, so that makes things even worse. When a smart person becomes mentally ill, they automatically become a danger to everyone surrounding them."
"What if she doesn't.. actually want to kill us..? What if she wants us captured..? To further the studies..? But that still doesn't make any sense, because Katya wasn't included, she would have wanted Katya too, I just..."
"Exactly! Think. What do you and your cousins all have in common?" Lei already figured out the answer. He wanted to know if Daniel can think this through.
"I wish it was just as simple as her just silently killing us, and moving on...Maybe she wants it to be as painful for the survivors as possible... Maybe she is right... Maybe we are abominations..."
"Or maybe she wants to feed her ego and desires and her obsession."
"I didn't ask to be created like this!!!!"
"You're not abominations. You're a result of people taking advantage of the innocent and weak. They couldn't get willing test subjects, so they use babies. Babies are easier to manipulate, to mold, and do experiments on. They would have a hard time capturing me and running tests, since I'm an expert marksman, also expert at using weapons, and excellent at parkour. In fact, I was doing parkour before it was cool. I sound like a viable test subject? Well, because of my old age, and the fact that I've lived a life... it's hard for them to do experiments on me. Heck... why aren't I the father of any of you kids? I'm sure the Zaibatsu should have my DNA sample on file. I mean, I'm a regular participant and I have excellent skills that rival that of a soldier." Lei never had to give up his "essence" for the Zaibatsu. But he did have a point. "In fact, my family before World War II were a clan of soldiers who defended the emperor dating back in the Yuan Dynasty. The Lei were proud warriors who were all raised and bred for combat... but... then World War II happened, and the Lei... are no more. My brother and I are the last of our kind."

He frowned, "I'm sorry to hear that... I know grandmother was heavily involved. Maybe she just didn't want you?" He sighed, "The only things my cousins and I have in common is that we have Williams blood, and we were forced to carry the Devil Gene..." He looked at Lei, "Do you think she wants it for herself..?" He was so confused. "What do you think Lillian is after?"
"She seems pretty powerful all on her own... Besides, many people died in these experiments.. those poor souls... I don't think she'd risk her own life to have even more power... She seemed confidant."

"I'm sorry to hear that... I know grandmother was heavily involved. Maybe she just didn't want you?"
Lei had an epiphany. A light-bulb went off in his head. That detail alone just unraveled the entire mystery. Of course she didn't use Lei. That woman was looking for cold, heartless men. Something that Lei isn't.
"The only things my cousins and I have in common is that we have Williams blood, and we were forced to carry the Devil Gene..."
Bingo!
"So, can we assume for a second that Lillian worked for your grandmother, yes? Now, it's very likely that Lillian worked very closely with her. Lillian might be relatively young. I think I know what she wants..."
"She seems pretty powerful all on her own... Besides, many people died in these experiments.. those poor souls... I don't think she'd risk her own life to have even more power... She seemed confidant."
"As far as I'm aware. Johanna wanted to make sure her bloodline were powerful assassins. In order to ensure her legacy, she created such super assassins. The reason why she isn't after Katya is because she either doesn't know about Katya, or she's a separate project on its own. According to the files I have on hand, Katya was just a catalyst for containing the Devil Gene. They wanted to see if it were possible to use The Devil Gene to cure genetic illnesses..."
Lei paused when he realized that he was getting off track.
"Anyway, sorry. I'm getting off track. So back to the story. Steve and I found out that the Zaibatsu was trying to create super-soldiers. Like yourself. The project was labelled a failure. And Lillian worked with you... Which leads me to my next point. She's obsessed with Johanna. She probably thinks she is Johanna's will, itself. She wants to kill you all because you're failed experiments. I wouldn't doubt she would kill Nina, Anna, and Chris, too... since apparently, they failed. Plus, the problem is... compassion. Johanna saw compassion as a weakness. But she's wrong. Compassion is not a weakness. It empowers someone. It makes them strong. When someone is protecting something precious... they suddenly become much stronger than being a conditioned sociopath like Nina."

Lei's mention of Katya sunk his heart. He hated it. All of this... Over creating soldiers, using horrible genes, all of these horrible nonsense. "You know... In the prisons... Grandmother..." He paused. "She seemed kind... She was the only comforting hand I had in there." He was frowning. "It was hard at first.... when mother and Sorin told me what she had done... but... It's still hard to view her as a monster. She was my grandmother... She would help me build pistols... and put together puzzles..." He looked down. "She was the only person who treated me like a person... And to discover that I was just a pawn in her game of chess..."
He looked at Lei. "How am I supposed to trust anyone..? How am I supposed to trust that Lillian would give mother back to us..? How am I supposed to trust you, or Nina, or... god even Sorin....?"
He gulped in disbelief. "I'm having a hard time adjusting... The soldiers wanted me to be like Nina, but... I couldn't. Grandmother said it was because 'Sweet Anna' was my mother... That she was the sister with all the heart. That Steve would be her star... and that I would need more work, and to deal with my emotions.... Because I can love, just like Sweet Anna..."

"I understand it is hard. But I never thought she was a monster. Maybe somewhere down the road she went a bit nuts. Or... she's a sociopath. Manipulating you. That way you'd never betray her. Or, she's just a narcissists."
"How am I supposed to trust anyone..? How am I supposed to trust that Lillian would give mother back to us..? How am I supposed to trust you, or Nina, or... god even Sorin....?"
"You don't. That's the trick. You trust no one, unless they give you a reason to trust them. For instance. I trust you. You've given me a reason to trust you: you have shown your intentions to be clear. However, on the other hand, Helena. I don't trust her. Because she hasn't given me a clear answer. Also, she just shows up out of nowhere, asking for my help. Don't you find that suspicious? Right now, she's been proven to be a valuable ally, but I don't exactly trust her. However, I doubt she plans on returning Katya. I don't think that's what she's after."

"Steve's my best friend. He's fully capable of loving. Nina is, too. I know, she might not appear to be, but she has a heart. She's just been conditioned not to have a heart. I know it's hard. It's rough. But that's life. Once you get out in the real world, you get confused and even doubt yourself. Believe me... I've been there. The real question is though, where do you go from here? Do you stop? Or do you keep pushing on until you find the light at the end of the tunnel. The choice is yours."

Katya had just awoke from her nap. As usual, her mom wasn't home as she had a school to run and classes to teach. Which left her with Helena. She steps out of bed to find the woman on the nice and fancy Sarasa-themed couch. The woman appeared to be reading something on something that resembled a giant phone. She carefully approaches her and takes a seat in another couch away from her.
"Um... Good morning."
"Good morning." Helena turned her head. "Your mom left you some breakfast. In the fridge. I'll heat it up for you..."
Katya nodded. "I zink I should go feed Dmitri..." She gets up and leaves in a hurry.
Helena rolled her eyes. She must recognize me from my days as a Tekken Force Officer...
Truth be told, Katya didn't really trust Helena. That woman looked like someone she knew at the Zaibatsu. She wasn't sure who but she feared that woman may turn her in. Plus... she seems a little odd. A pretty woman such as herself... guarding her in the middle of Poland. What's her deal? She knows this Lei Wulong guy is this man whom she works with, but... there was just something off about this woman...

There was a knock at dr. Kristovich's door. Awaiting in the other side was a stylishly dressed young man. He wore a black button up, buttoned all the way up, with skinnies and black boots. His hair was neatly combed back, and his blue eyes looked at the door awaiting an answer.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door. Katya's basic instinct was not to answer the door, but Helena was going to open the door. However, that meant Katya had to go back to the basement and hide there.
"Who is it?" Helena asks, as she shoos Katya down in the basement. She also unclicked the safety off her gun that was hidden in her upper thigh underneath her gown. Though she was going to open the door, she had to be careful. Lillian could be on the other side.

He smiled, fumbling around with some papers he was holding. "Hi!" He looked at the papers. "I must have the wrong house..." he said, chuckling. "My name is Liam... Im looking for a Miss. Kristovich..." He looked at Helena. "I used to ve in her class, and i had some papers i wanted to lool over with her... I thought this was her place."
He neatly put the papers back. "She must have moved. Do you know where she might have gone...?" he asked.

"Yes, you do, clearly." Helena crossed her arms.
"My name is Liam... Im looking for a Miss. Kristovich... I used to ve in her class, and i had some papers i wanted to lool over with her... I thought this was her place."
"Ah yes... you do have the right address. However, she is currently at the school. Check her office, will you?"
