Steve was happy when he saw his pal, Paul arrive. After all, that was why they were here at the airport, to go get Paul after dropping off the girls.
"As a matter of fact, we are, right Lei?" Steve asked looking to Lei.
"Actually... I uh might sit this one out. Let my son have a go. I have some important investigation that I need to do, and I can't be disturbed." Lei said to Paul.
"Aww... really?"
"I'm dead serious." Which is true. Lei had to find out what Heihachi was plotting before the world ends. "But anyway, nice to see you're doing just fine for yourself, Paul."

Paul looked at Lei a litle sadly, somehow all the others seemed to leave and give the place to their own kids. Marshall, now Lei... Paul felt old.
"God... You all have kids of your own... and I don't... "
He then grabbed Steve by the shoulders and told him:
"Steve, from now on, you're my adopted son!"
Yet he wouldn't leave his place, they will fight together.

"God... You all have kids of your own... and I don't... "
"I uh... don't have kids..." Steve said.
"It's never too late, Paul. I had my four-year-old when I was 43." Lei declared. "You still have time. Don't worry." Lei pats Paul on the back, hoping to reassure the middle-aged fighter.
"Steve, from now on, you're my adopted son!"
"Um.. okay... but you are like... 3 years too late... plus I was already adopted." He smiled. "But I'd imagine you'd make a great father."

Paul was slightly surprised at Lei's affirmation.
"You also have a little kid? How many kids do you have? Thank for the encouragement, but technically I'm not sure I want kids, it just feels strange to be the only old guy around I know with no kids. I don't feel like I'm in the club. Well, were not that old but still..."
Paul Knew that with his way of life, his kids would probably feel neglected or something. Well not neglected but would lack something. He still had problems getting money for himself, it wasn't time to have some kids. Though he would protect them if he had some. Providing for his kids would be hard but to protect them from any danger would be easy, he would beat any who would try to hurt them.
Three years too late... ? You've been adopted three years ago? first thought Paul before he quickly realized: Okay, Steve's legal age... He then told Steve:
"I know you're already been adopted, kiddo, but you're my spiritual son. And thanks for the compliment."
Yet Paul knew he was probably as mature as Steve. Or maybe even less. He then asked Lei:
"So, you're on some investigation? About the Mishimas again?"

Lei held up his hand, to signify the number two. "I have two. A 25-year-old and a 4-year-old. And don't worry, you don't have to have kids if you don't want them. I think it's totally fine."
"I know you're already been adopted, kiddo, but you're my spiritual son. And thanks for the compliment."
"No, problem. I guess I can be your spiritual son, then." At least Paul was a better man than Steve's biological father.
"So, you're on some investigation? About the Mishimas again?"
"Actually, I just got back to investigating the Mishimas after 20 years..."

"So you've never investigated about Kazuya's kid? Jin? I'm sure he cheated on the third tournament... Beside he did start the war right? I think there was a big conspiracy behind this... If you want some help, don't worry you can ask me. Mostly help with fists though... but I can also help other ways. But thank again both of you to have come for me."

"Actually, there really wasn't much investigation involved. It was more of an arrest, than anything. No clues or puzzles to solve." Lei then smiled. "And I'm glad to hear. I'll see if my investigation involves your skills."
Paul wouldn't be of much help here, as he was just going to find clue on his father's death. But if Lei needs back-up he'll be sure to keep Paul in mind.
"I might need your help, myself. I'm going to need a nice sparring partner." Steve said.

Paul listened to Lei and knew he could not do much about an arrest , he was no cop. But one thing he was, was a fighter, so he grinned when Steve mentioned a nice sparring partner and replied:
"Hell yeah, you got me! I'm all for it!"

"I knew you would! With a new tournament on the way, we both need to be ready." Steve was really excited and fired up. He really enjoyed fighting a different variety of fighters, but he also hoped Lei would find information on the purpose of his creation.
While Steve and Paul talked, Lei couldn't help but be in deep thought. He just thought about his investigation and what other information did he need.

Paul wasn't actually talking with Steve, more like yelling things.
"Yeah! Yeah! Number one!"
Paul was now seemingly sparring with Steve, pretending to punch him for fun. No time to talk about being old! He didn't feel old anymore! Steve was making him feel as young as him!

"We'll see about that. Let's go hit the gym. Lei, you wanna join?"
"Eh... I could use a nice warm-up. Especially since I might have to face Heihachi himself." Lei popped his knuckles.

Paul told Lei:
"Yeah, you should come and train with us. That old geezer can be very dangerous. But one thing good about him is that it gives me hope. I hope to still be as tough as him in thirty years, even better. But right now, I'll prouve that I'm the toughest fighter in the universe to both of you!"

"Yeah, Paul's right. You should train with us. Why don't you do that drunken fighting thing? I've wondered how to deal with that. It's a lot like boxing, isn't it? You weave and dodge?"
Lei nodded. "Yes, Zui Quan is also known as Druken Boxing. It's a very difficult art to master and you must be flexible." Lei demonstrated his extreme flexibilty by bending his wrist forward to where the palm of his hand touched his forearm, before moving it back. "My son didn't inherit my flexibility, so he cannot learn Zui Quan. We tried a few exercises when he was young... and he couldn't do any of them."
Lei smiled. "I really aspire to be more like Wang. A 100-year-old Kung Fu master who is no push-over. I can see my great-grandchildren try and challenge me to a fight, but fail because I am much wiser than I was now."

Paul had already seen Lei fighting but he had never experienced his flexibility first hand. His jaw dropped when he saw what Lei could do with his wrist.
"Woah... Are you a rag doll? I have another question that I always wondered about: When you're really drunk, can you still fight as good? Or you then look like you're not drunk?"
Though he didn't really know Wang personally, Paul had also seen the old man fighting during some of the Tournaments.
"Yeah, Wang is cool and he's more than double our age! I hope you become like him as well. I think you could. So we go fight now? Steve is eager, right kiddo?"

"Woah... Are you a rag doll? I have another question that I always wondered about: When you're really drunk, can you still fight as good? Or you then look like you're not drunk?"
"You kind of have to be. Otherwise it won't work as effectively. On the plus-side, when I fall, it doesn't hurt me as bad. But as for the other question, fighting drunk actually looses its effectiveness, because I can't quite focus as clearly, but... on the other hand, I find that I am more flexible and can easily dodge incoming attacks better. But it is still better to fight sober."
"Yeah, Wang is cool and he's more than double our age! I hope you become like him as well. I think you could. So we go fight now? Steve is eager, right kiddo?"
"Yes, and I know just the spot. It's where I went during the 5th tournament to train as I waited." Steve said with Paul. "I'll give you the directions."
Lei nodded as they finally reached his car, a silver 4-door sedan just used for driving. Nothing really special about it.
"Lead the way."
