There was a loud gasp and a violent rattle as young Vira Morana shot upright in her cot, sweat pouring down her forehead as her bloodshot eyes darted around, searching for whatever sub-conscious horror that woke her.
Her room was barren, reminiscent of one she had in a hospital she once stayed in when she was younger... but this was no hospital. There were doctors there, but not he kind who were there to make you better. No. These doctors were there to experiment. These doctors were there to cut, inject, dissect... they were there to take apart and re-assemble. To break things and rebuild them to their specifications.
Vira was of those things. She wasn’t sure how long she’d been there, or really how she’d even ended up there, though she could venture to think it had been at least over a year. The last thing she could remember was being in a mental health facility and then... and then...? She grunted slightly, shaking her head to try to clear away the clouds that always seemed to form when she tried to remember that day. Didn’t matter much now anyway, she figured.
Her small, uncomfortable looking cot creaked mournfully as she stood up, shuffling over to the corner room where a plate with a raw chunk of meat of indiscernible origin sat. Her regular diet seemed to consist of raw meat, occasionally a small, live animal being given to her to ‘prepare’ for herself. She was well aware of how barbaric and horrific it was, but after a week of not eating you do what you have to... and after over a year of doing what you have to you eventually become numb... to well, everything...
She sat there on the floor in silence, tearing into the meat with a set of sharp teeth contained in either side of her mouth. As she feasted upon the unknown flesh her eyes remained fixated on the heavy metal door to her room. While she wasn’t sure of what time of day it was her sensitive ears could pick up the sounds of footsteps throughout the hallways outside. The day would begin soon, and with every new day came a new test. A new surgery. A new nightmare.

Several scientists were walking down the hall, checking out the test subjects in the glass cages. Some humanoids we're in rooms.
However, one stood out the most. He was chained up in a corner and would devour all that would approach him. Caution is advised.
But right now, they had to look at another experiment. One more cooperative and less dangerous.

Vira continued to stare intently at the door, heart racing as the foot steps approached, closer and closer every second. She knew soon that door would open and she would be dragged out to be subjected to whatever horrors the white coats had in store for her today. It was the same way every time... she would fight back when they laid hands on her, but was usually subdued quickly with a shock or injection.
it was the way same every time.

Today they were going to run some tests on Vira and see how she's developing as well as how strong she is.
The scientists approached the door opening it as they closed it behind them.
"Today's experiment: combat training."

Her hair stood on end as she tensed up, growling and hissing towards the door like a feral animal.
Whatever horrors they had planned for her today... she wasn’t ready to take it laying down. She was taking blood today...

The scientist then wheeled in a crate as they placed it inside the room. They open it, revealing it to be a velociraptor with boxing gloves. It hissed and roared as it approached the experiment.
The scientists stood in the background, analyzing, watching, and scribbling on their clipboard.

The blood in her veins began to run ice cold as the researchers wheeled in the metal crate... whatever was in there was just as pissed off and blood thirsty as she was, and suddenly she wasn’t feeling as confident as she was earlier.
The front bars of the crate were lifted, revealing a large reptilian creature unlike anything Vira had ever seen before. The beast hissed and snarled, it’s slitted pupils dialating and shrinking rapidly as it began to approach her. She was absolutely petrified with fear. This was a creature of pure instinct. It was designed to hunt, kill, and rip apart its prey...
... yet in the back of her mind she couldn’t get past the idea that that was wrong. She was a human who had done bad things. She deserved to be here... but an animal who was only acting on instinct? How was that right at all?
Vira could only muse on morality for a mere moment before a gaping maw of razor sharp teeth accompanied by a blood curdling roar came straight for her throat. With only seconds to react she managed to duck, head-butting the reptile in the chest with as much force as she could muster...

The creature staggered back from the headbutt. It hissed for a moment before ducking in to do a spiral rising uppercut. It went up several feet, thanks to its tail, propelling the animal in mid-air.
The scientists noticed that this move somewhat looked familiar.

Vira was knocked upwards by the attack, landing with with painful sounding thud on the hard lab floor.
“Ugh...” she rolled over with a groan, pushing herself up. Her sensitive ears could hear the sound of the scientists scrawling away on their clipboards as they observed. Always observing. Always scratching away on those damn clip boards. Documenting every messed up thing that went on within these walls, all from the safety of their cozy little room behind the reinforced window.
She hated this. She hated them.
Vira spat on the floor before rising to her feet and looking dead into the glass her tormentors watched her from behind, raising a middle finger to them before turning back to face the beast.

The observers noticed the experiment's obscene behavior and made note of it in the report.
The battle continued as the boxing velociraptor lunged forward to send in a sweep punch at the opponent's shin, followed by a quick uppercut to the chin.

Vira stumbled back as the creature swiped at her shins, tripping over her feet, but managing to use that time on the ground to avoid his following attack, bucking her legs upward in an attempt to knock the wind out of the overgrown gecko and buy her some time. This wasn’t looking good...

The dinosaur hissed as it was knocked off of it's feet. It laid there for a few moments before finally getting up.
It spun around trying to smack Vira with its tail before throwing in a left and right hook.

She used the precious few seconds she had the reptilian on the ground to regain her bearings, managing to grab hold of its tail as it swung towards her.
Boy howdy, did that piss it off.
Vira gripped on for dear life as she was nearly flung into the wall by the enraged animal’s frantic movements. This thing was strong as hell and at this point she wasn’t really sure what to do with it now that she had a hold of it, but it was better than nothing.
With a visceral shriek she swung violently, slinging the beast over her head and slamming it into the tile. She was not particularly strong, but she hoped the impact was enough to stun it long enough for her to figure out what the hell else she could do... this animal was designed by nature to kill. She was designed by science to do... god only knows what.

The reptile was stunned for a moment, as the impact disoriented it. However, it was even more pissed off than before.
It was going to finish this fight. All it knew was it had to kill its prey.

the elevator opened.
"100 guards are waiting for us here ... We should walk in the dark ... So I'll use the blackout ...The sight of that gun should be nocturnal ... Darkness between 3 ... 2 ... 1."
He picked up the smartphone and clicked. He blocked the elevator and caused the blackout only in that floor and obviously turned off the cameras. He spoke in a low voice.
"Now the soldiers will light the torches or use the sights ... So as soon as there is a light we will hide in a dark part. Here we go!"
He walked stealthily looking through the thermal sight and taking a look at his smartphone to see if it was the right direction.
