It was early in the morning and the island of Yakushima was slowly awaking up for another day.
Hitomi Kazama was in the courtyard, mediating with her older sister, Jun Kazama. The two have been awake since three in the morning when the older sister noticed her contractions and woke up the younger sister.
"How are you feeling, Jun?" Hitomi asked.

Hitomi's normally light footsteps made a solid thump thump thump as she ran down the corridors, searching for the midwife. She eventually found her in her room just as she finished getting dressed.
"Quickly! It's Jun!" She exclaimed.

The women lead Jun to the pond and the woman quickly disrobed herself. The midwives looked at Jun, noticing that it wasn't quite time yet. Jun relaxed in the pond, enjoying the cool water.

After several hours, Jun was crowning as it was time. She closes her eyes and relaxed in the water as she let her body do all the work. She screams a little bit in agony, but remembered to take several deep breaths in and out.

It wasn't before long that Jun eventually have birth to a baby that swam up to the surface of the pond with his cord still attached.
The women let him cry as the baby took his first breaths. Eventually, he crawled up to be breastfed as the women cut his cord and put it in a box.
