Yakushima Forest

Jin had left prison a changed man.  He still kept up with his muscular physique thanks to his exercise routine.  It was such a relief to be finally cured of the curse that has plagued his family, as well as the destruction of the Mishima Zaibatsu and the purification of Kazuya Mishima.  And now he can go on and live the life that he's always wanted.

He decides it was time to return home: Yakushima.  This was where it all began for him.  And now, this is where his life will begin.

He arrives at the rebuilt cottage ready to come home to Xiaoyu, and their child.

Over the years, Xiao found herself adjusting to motherhood while her significant other was currently in prison for his role in war crimes.

Xiao missed Jin to the core of her being, and often wondered when and if he will come home? Not just for her sake, but their daughter Kaori as well.

The buzzing four year old ran through the rebuilt home that friends and family help reconstruct while Xiao was pregnant with her little one. The home in particular holds a spot dear in Xiao's heart as this was once Jin's childhood home..

Day by day, Xiao notices just how much Kaori reminds her of Jin..

"Kaori, be careful! I don't want you to get hurt..." Xiao called out towards her daughter, hoping that she doesn't get injured as she played throughout the home.

Jin knocks on the door, waiting for an answer. He wondered what he would find. Would Xiaoyu accept him with open arms?

[Ling Xiaoyu]

Chasing Kaori around the home, Xiao stopped as she heard a knock at the door. Scratching her head, Xiao was left slightly surprised as she wasn't expecting any visitors today.

Picking up her daughter and placing her on her hip, Xiao walked towards the door and without thinking she opened it, to her surprise to see, "J-Jin??"

"Xiao!" Jin said as he was happy to see her. "And who is this?" He asked, looking at Kaori.

[Ling Xiaoyu]

Xiao couldn't find the words to speak as she just found herself gazing at Jin, Is he really here? This has got to be a dream, right? Snapping back into reality, Xiao smiled softly at her significant other, while kissing their daughter's cheek. "This is Kaori!" Those brown eyes gazed lovingly into his own, "Our daughter.."

The young girl buried her face into her mother's shoulder, apparently shy given the circumstances of meeting her father for the first time in her life..

"Daughter?" Jin raised an eyebrow. He was both surprised and very happy at the same time.

"I'm a dad?"

Well, considering that the Devil Gene is gone, he can safely settle down and have a happy family. He won't throw anyone off a cliff. He's going to love and cherish his daughter.

"Hello Kaori."

[Ling Xiaoyu]

Xiao looked over at her daughter, ushering her to finally meet her father. Once Kaori warmed up to the man before her, those brown eyes covered by a fringe of hair reached out towards Jin, wanting him to hold her..

"I think she wants to spend time with her Dad!" Xiao exclaimed, fighting back tears as she waited for this precious moment..

Jin reached over and held Kaori in his arms. He smiled as he hugs the girl.

"Kaori is a beautiful name."

[Ling Xiaoyu]

Xiao smiled at Jin who mentioned about their daughter's name, "Thank you. I named her after my grandmother, unfortunately she passed shortly after Kaori was born.."

Walking over to her significant other, Xiao stood on her toes and kissed Jin on his cheek, "I'm glad you're home." She spoke softly into his ear before gently caressing his cheek with her thumb..

"I'm sorry to hear that."

Jin set his daughter down as Xiaoyu approached him. She kisses him, as Jin was very fortunate that Xiaoyu was still here waiting for him after all those years he was in prison.

"I'm happy to be back, too."

[Ling Xiaoyu]

"Hehe, well, don't just stand there. Welcome home, Jin!" Xiao exclaimed before gently grabbing their daughter's hand and walking her into their home where the rambunctious child ran off, as her normal routine.

Xiao allowed Kaori to run around the forest area around the back of the house as the animals there are normally friendly and kind to their daughter, which gave Xiao some peace of mind.

"She's one with nature. Just like her father, hehe. It's the Kazama blood in her veins. The animals love her." Xiao spoke as she watched Kaori play outside with rabbits, glancing over at Jin she flashed a gentle smile before walking over and wrapping her arms around him, holding his muscular frame against her smaller body..

"I missed you so much, you have no idea.." Looking up at him, her eyes welled with tears, "It was tough raising Kaori by myself but, now that you're home she gets the chance to experience her amazing father. I told her all great things about you, she thinks you're some super hero hehe."

"I've missed you, too, Xiao..." Jin said, pulling her closer to him.

He was happy to see Kaori was still thriving. She seemed happy and well-adjusted. With himself now finally meeting his beautiful daughter, Jin finally has a happy family.

"And I am happy to see Kaori."

[Ling Xiaoyu]

As Xiao watched Kaori play outside, she couldn't help but to wonder about her future and what to make of it. Those brown eyes peered up at Jin, becoming increasingly worried..

"Jin." Xiao spoke up, "I love Kaori, but, I am worried about the Devil Gene." Her hand traced over Jin's arm, the one that use to hold onto the branded tattoo that granted Jin access to the Devil Gene..

"Kaori.. she, s-she hasn't had the cure yet. And I'm not too sure if they're able to give her one.." Xiao spoke as tears slowly traced down her cheeks, she was a mother worried about her daughter, wondering if she will suffer the same fate.

Jin's brows furrowed in concern upon hearing that Kaori had the Devil Gene. However, the best he could do is do what his mother had done, use his Kazama abilities to suppress it. Maybe she can learn how to suppress it herself when she is older...

But otherwise getting the cure would be ideal. And Jin wasn't sure where to start with this.

"Without any of my resources that I had with the Mishima Zaibatsu... I don't even know where to begin. But right now... I should be able to help suppress it for a while..."
