Chapter One
It was evening in Tokyo, Japan as Sean Martin arrived from Dublin via plane. He stepped out onto the cement. He wore a fine, black suit. His short, dark brown hair was gelled down. His blue eyes sparkled in the evening sunlight. "It's wonderful, isn't it, Joanne...?" He turned, to see his wife exiting the plane. The most striking thing about Joanne was how pale she was. Her eyes were a pale blue, and her hair was the brightest blonde. She wore a long red dress, with heels to match. Her blonde locks hung down over her right shoulder. She walked to her husband, taking his hand. "It is..." She said, looking around, "I've seen photos of this place, but I couldn't have dreamed of something like this..!" She said with a smile on her face. "After we meet with Mr. Mishima, I would love to do some exploring...!" She exclaimed. They walked to their taxi, with airport workers carrying their luggage to the car. Sean thanked them, and gave them a tip. He closed the door, and the taxi was off. Joanne was smiling to herself. "Darling, I wonder if Jinpachi would be interested in having dinner with us. Wouldn't that be lovely...?" She asked, taking his hand. He nodded, pulling her closely by the waist. "I think that's a great idea, Joanne..." He kissed her deeply, pulling her against him. They were chest to chest, as his hands moved up her thigh. She tilted her head back, as he kissed her neck. She began to giggle, and pushed him back. "Tame yourself, Mr. Martin... We have to look presentable." She said, pulling her compact mirror out of her purse to fix her red lipstick. "Oh, my beautiful Joanne, you are always the most beautiful creature...." Her big eyes, looked at him, and she smiled. "You charmer, you..." She said quietly, returning her attention to her face.
Three months ago, Sean and Joanne were presented with an opportunity by Mr. Mishima. He wanted the power couple to invest in a business idea that when Sean heard it, he couldn't refuse. The Mishima Conglomerate was heralded to become a Zaibatsu. Initially thinking it a risk, Sean was going to decline. However, Joanne persuaded him to invest. After this, Sean came on board.
They arrived to the building, and Joanne and Sean exited the taxi. He retrieved their luggage, and the two headed inside. It was a small three story building in the countryside of Japan. They manufactured large machines, offering Japan the tools it needed in this new era of Industrialism. They were greeted by an employee. "Welcome, how can i help you..?" He asked them. His Japanese accent was very thick. "We are here to see Jinpachi Mishima..." Joanne spoke out. The man looked at her husband strangely. He said something in Japanese, which Sean understood. He shot a glare at the man. "What did he say...?" She asked. Sean turned to his wife, "Nothing...." He responded. Soon, a tall, and muscular Japanese man headed toward them. He was wearing a grey suit, and his long graying hair was pulled back. "You must be Mr. Martin..." He said. "I am Jinpachi. Forgive me, but my English is not very good..." He said, smiling at the couple. "It's quite alright..." Sean said. "Watashi wa kono purojekuto ni sain shita toki ni nihongo no ressun o ukemashita." Jinpachi smiled brightly, and nodded. He turned to Joanne. "If you go up elevator, to the second floor... You will be greeted by my secretary, Eva. She can assist you while we are meeting." Jinpachi said to her. "Of course..." She responded. She kissed her husband on the cheek. "Make wise choices, my beautiful Sean..." She said, as the two men went on their way to discuss business.
Joanne had advised her husband on what questions to ask, and things to look for. In this sexist time, she was a force that was unappreciated and looked down upon. Especially being so beautiful. So instead, she worked through Sean. Her husband was smart, business savy, but he never reached his true potential until he had met Joanne four years ago. With her guidance, she tripled his fortune, and his businesses flourished. "Do you mind if I leave these here..?" She asked the employee regarding their luggage. He nodded, "It is okay.." He said. "Perfect..." She said. She then headed to the elevator. She pressed the up button, and awaited the lift. When the doors opened, she entered and pressed the second button. It was always like this. The men would go, and she would be left behind to be with the stupid sheep with too much hairspray. She hated this part...
She exited the elevator, and looked around. There was an office to her right that said 'Eva Williams' on the door. She knocked. "Ohairikudasai." She heard through the door. She shrugged, and opened the door. Inside, the office wasn't decorated. It was just a desk, and woman sitting in front of a lot of paperwork. Eva looked up, "Can I help you...?" She asked the woman. Joanne smiled. "I'm Joanne, my husband is an investor, so he's meeting with Mr. Mishima. He advised that I come here..." She said. Eva raised her well manicured eyebrows, "Hmph..." She uttered, before looking back down. She had perfectly waved raven hair. Her skin was porcelain and she was dressed so finely, Joanne wondered why she was here. The blonde entered the office, and sat down in front of her. "I assume that you arranged our hotel..?" She asked the dark haired woman. Eva looked back up at her. "You will be staying at the Tokyo hotel downtown.." She said, quietly. She reached into her drawer, and handed Joanne 2 keys. "Is there anything I can do for you Miss....?" She left off, asking for her last name. Joanne smiled. "Martin. I'm Joanne Martin." Eva stood up, "Well, Mrs. Martin. I'm sure you'll find everything satisfactory.." The first thing Joanne noticed was that Eva lacked any kind of accent. Her voice was flat, while Joanne and her husband both had Irish accents. "Where are from, Eva..?" Joanne asked. Eva pursed her lips. "We're not that close, Mrs. Martin..." She said, then giving her a small smile. Joanne huffed. "Alright..." She said, taking her keys.
Soon, a small child ran in. "Mom..!" He yelled out. "I'm hungry..!" He shouted out. Eva shook her head. "Dear, go back to the empty office, I will bring you your meal when I'm done with Mrs. Martin here... It is very rude for you to barge in." She said to her son. Joanne smiled at the boy, "What are we having for dinner...?" She asked. He turned to her, staring up at her with his blue eyes. "Rice and Fish... Ma'am..." He said. Joanne smiled at Eva. "How precious....! I cannot wait to have children...!" She said. "Hopefully soon..." Eva looked at her son, "Now... Go back to the office.." She said sternly. As the little boy ran off, Joanne looked back at Eva. "How old is he..?" She asked. Eva sighed, "He's five." She said, blankly. Joanne leaned against the desk. "What is his name?" She asked again, prying. Eva sighed, and turned to Joanne.
"His name is Richard."

Chapter 2
Hours had passed while Joanne waited on Sean to finish with Mr. Mishima. She was ready to get to the hotel, and settle in before going to dinner with Jinpachi. she tapped her manicured nails on the end table next to the small sofa in the waiting area. She looked down to read the Hotel information, ready to go. Bored, she decided to go back up to check on Eva's son. She looked around for them, seeing little Richard out of the corner of her eye reading in the empty office across from Eva's. She peered in to Eva's office, silently, to see her on the telephone. Eva was still in her office... "Yes... I have him in sight..." She said, speaking over the phone. She moved her hair from her face, crossing her legs. "Mishima does not know..." She said. "Conor is in Ireland, Yes... I will meet with him when the objective is complete. We will expect our payment." She said, hanging up. Joanne was wideyed, when Eva noticed her through the small crack in the door's opening. She stood up, walking to her, opening the door, and pulling her in.
"Do you know that it's rude to eavesdrop..!?" She shouted at her. Joanne slapped Eva, and spun around, standing in an Aikido stance. Eva chuckled, rubbing her cheek. "I see you're not completely airheaded like the rest of the women here..." Joanne narrowed her eyes. "And I see you aren't what you seem..! Who are you..!? Who are you watching...!? Are you a spy...!?" She demanded an answer, as she breathed heavily. Eva, however, was calm. "I am not a spy.... And you don't need to worry about who I am. I am here on a mission that has nothing to do with you." Eva stated. Joanne remained in her stance. "I don't believe you... Are you after my husband..?" She asked. Eva placed her hands on her hips. "I seem to be in a pickle..." Eva said, leaning against her desk. "I am not here to hurt you..." Joanne lowered her arms, still eyeing Eva. "I don't trust you..." She said. Eva chuckled, again. "And I do not care...." Joanne huffed. "Tell me your intentions or I will tell Jinpachi of your misdeeds." Eva smiled, "What misdeed, Mrs. Martin..? You listening in on a private conversation..? Or you attacking me...?" She pointed to the redness on her cheek. Joanne backed off, knowing the woman was smart. Smarter than she led on.
"Your husband is meeting with a man who could potentially come into a major powerhouse..." Eva said, "Does that not strike you as odd...?" Joanne clenched her jaw, "No, It sounds like a wise investment." Eva tilted her head. "And I'm sure your husband thought of that all by himself, didn't he..?" She walked up to Joanne. "You, Mrs. Martin... I've done some research on you... Your husband is but a mere puppet, with your fingers locked on his strings. It's smart... Sad, but smart...." She said. Joanne looked down. "Well, Mrs. Williams..." She said, looking back up at her. "You just have everything figured out, don't you...?"
Eva knew an opportunity when she saw one, an alliance... "Jinpachi's son, Heihachi, he's in the works of overthrowing his father." She claimed. "He could triple This place.... Turning it into a Zaibatsu.." Joanne's eyes lit up. "Triple... Hmmm...?" She asked. Eva nodded. "I say... If Mr. Mishima were to... disappear... Your fortune could increase beyond your wildest imagination.." She said to the blonde. Joanne seemed interested. "And how could we pull this hypothetical disappearance off...?" She asked, raising an eyebrow. Eva smirked. "Do I sense an alliance..?" Joanne looked at her, "What do you get out of it..? Did Heihachi put you up to this..?" She asked. Eva laughed. "You don't know anything.." She crossed her arms. "All you need to know is I will get what's mine...' She said.
Joanne sighed. "Well, as long as we aren't talking murder, and if this... Heihachi can increase my fortune, I'm definitely all ears..." She said, smiling. Eva smiled back.
"Excellent."
