Lei Welcomes Li-Mei (Takes place two years before Tekken 3, in 2015) ---------- “Oh, Pai! I came here as soon as I could! I’m so sorry!”
Lei had arrived at the hospital a little later than he wanted to. It didn’t help that Pai went into labor just as Lei was at work. He was in the middle of something big and just couldn’t get off work until his shift ended. Unfortunately, Lei ended up missing the birth of his own child.
Pai sat up, holding the sleeping newborn in her arms. She places an index finger to her lips.
“So sorry…” Lei whispered, bowing.
“It’s a girl, Wulong. We have a daughter.”
“I have a daughter!”
“Yes. What should we name her?”
“Can I hold her? Please? Can I hold her, Pai?”
Pai couldn’t believe that Lei wasn’t even listening to her. But it was nice to have someone else hold the baby. She then hands the baby to Lei, who held the sleeping girl, rocking her as he held her close to his chest. “Hi there… you’re just like me, aren’t you, little girl? You like to nap.”
Pai smiled. She was glad that he welcomed his daughter into the world. After all, she wasn’t sure how well Lei would take to their child, considering that they were cohabitating. What was next for the two? Would they ever get married? Pai sure hoped so. She figured that if she got pregnant, Lei would eventually put a ring on her. She’s been wanting him to marry her for some time now. Maybe he will now the their daughter is in the picture.
“Look at her! She’s got my nose. See?”
Now that Lei mentioned it, their baby did have Lei's nose. It was really adorable. Pai couldn’t help but smile.
“So, Wulong, what are we going to name her?”
Lei took a seat as he held the sleeping baby. He looks at the tiny little girl.
“She’s already taken a lot after me. She’s sleeping soundly and has my nose. She’s beautiful like you, love.”
“She is…” Pai honestly didn’t see it.
The girl was a small baby with a lot of fat. She wasn’t dainty or thin or beautiful like Pai. Their daughter was… kind of an ugly baby. Maybe Lei was just saying this because he loved Pai.
“And she’s like an itty-bitty rosebud. She’s so pink. Look at her! And they got her in pink blanket and a cute little pink hat. We should name her Lei Li-Mei! What do you think, love?”
“I like that name! Li-Mei is perfect. Maybe she’ll grow up to be beautiful!”
“Just like you, love.” Lei smiled.
“She’s probably going to be smart like you.”
“Probably.” Lei smiled. “Definitely have my smarts.”
Pai was very happy. Although Lei wasn’t there during the labor, she was glad that he arrived at the hospital anyway to go see his daughter. And give her such a fitting name. And then he gives the daughter his surname. Things were looking bright for the couple. Lei handed Li-Mei back to Pai as he laid his head on his girlfriend’s lap. Pai ran a hand through his hair.
“Super Cop tired?”
Lei just groaned. “I had a long day. I’m sure your day was longer… but yes. I’m ready to take a nap. I’m with Li-Mei.”

Elise Hits Rock Bottom (Takes place two years before Tekken 3, in 2015) ----------------------
Elise groaned as she placed her head under her pillow as her brother turned on the lights.
“Elise! What is the meaning of this?”
Elise lay naked on the futon, with blankets covering her body as she had a naked stranger laying down next to her as well.
“Go away!” Elise shouts through her pillow.
“I let you stay in the guest house so you can get back on your feet after losing your job, but now I feel like you over stayed your welcome.”
Elise’s bedmate sat up and awoke, revealing to be an attractive young brunette woman.
“Oh, Elise… you were so amazing last night!”
She then took notice of Nikolaj.
“Oh is that your husband?”
“Husband? Listen here young lady, that woman is my little sister! Please get dressed and leave!”
“Okay, fine… see you later Elise! I'll bring some more vodka next time!”
Once the girl left with her clothes, Nikolaj sat down next to his sister.
“What the Hell is wrong with you? You have been having sex with strangers and you've been sitting at home, doing nothing but drinking! I thought you knew better than that!”
Elise groaned. “I’m fine, Nikolaj. What’s wrong with a little bit of fun? I bet you’re jealous that I have more sex than you do!”
“Elise, it’s been four months! I haven’t heard about a job offer or anything! Are you going to just lay there in my house… and drink alcohol… and party?”
“Look, it takes time to find a job.”
“You were a scientist for the Zaibatsu, how hard can it be? You should apply to universities and hospitals. You have a brilliant mind.”
Elise groaned. “That’s the problem… I got fired from the Zaibatsu. Who wants to hire a failure like me?”
“Elise, you’re not a failure…”
“Of course I am! I got divorced, I cannot have kids, no man or woman wants to be with me! I am just unlovable! Oh and I got fired, and I cannot practice my studies anymore… what is even the point of trying anymore! Oh and Dad died and I missed his funeral!”
“Calm down Elise! All of this is nonsense! Just stop talking! Listen. If you don’t get your act together, I’m kicking you out!”
“Go ahead then! Kick me out! Kick me to the curb.”
“I’m serious. Elise, stop drinking and inviting guests over and stop partying.”
“Fine… I will leave then.”
Elise then gathered up all of her belongings and put them all in a bag as she got off the futon and left. She got herself an Uber and immediately left the property. Nikolaj somehow regrets this but hoped Elise would straighten herself out. He’d hate a brilliant mind like hers to go to waste like that.
However, it would be true. It’s been about a few more months until he got a call from the hospital at 3AM. His sister was on a drunken stupor and fell off a two-story building. She is currently in the ICU in a coma. Nikolaj immediately got up and headed to the hospital as he saw the doctor.
“How is she?”
“She’s not doing okay right now. Luckily for her, she was intoxicated, otherwise she would have broken a few bones. However, she suffered some serious head trauma from the landing. We’re not sure if she’ll wake up… or if she ever will.”
Nikolaj felt horrible about this. He should not have let her leave all those months ago.
“She also suffered some irreversible liver damage from all the drinking. If she keeps drinking like she’s drinking right now, she won’t last for another year.”
He gritted his teeth. “What about a liver transplant?”
“She’d have to stay sober for at least 6 months to qualify. She’s very dependent on alcohol, so if she ever wakes up, you’d have to convince her to get some help.”
“…What do you mean if she ever wakes up?”
“Combined with the alcohol in her system and the concussion, she might be out of it for a few days. Now, if she could stop drinking, she might be able to live… until she reaches 52.”
“Elise… what did you do to yourself?”
It was finally a week before Elise woke up from her coma. Thankfully, only Nikolaj was there for her. He was upset that his sister didn’t even bother seeing her. This poor woman. He didn’t know what do do.
“Ugh… why am I here?”
“Listen to me, Elise! You fell out of a balcony two stories high and hit your head on the ground while you were drunk.”
“So, that didn’t kill me?”
“What?”
“God really loves to torture me, doesn’t he? Just like he did to Job.”
“Wait! You meant to fall off the building?”
“Of course I did. I was supposed to die… but I lived…” She groaned.
“Listen to me, little sister! You’re going to get a professional psychiatrist! And you’re going to rehab! And you’re not going to drink any more alcohol for as long as I live! Capish?”
“Yes, now I’m convinced. God hates me.”

Elise and Lei Meet Each Other for the First Time (Takes place during Tekken 2 in 1998) --------------------
Lei had been wandering the halls of the Zaibatsu. He had a fight scheduled later in the afternoon against Bruce Irvin, the man who was in the plane crash when his partner died. Lei had hoped to get information from his opponent about the crash as well as avenge his partner’s death. His medium-length black hair was done in a short ponytail as he wore his loose-fitting blue modified Cheongsam. He had on his black sparring pants with matching shoes, and a wide belt that held his outfit in place.
Lei opted out of his detective clothes as this outfit allowed him easier mobility, as well as made him look harmless to Kazuya. He also hoped that maybe as he wandered, he might gain information that would help Jun with her investigation. Maybe he could ask her out for dinner.
As Lei walked, he accidentally runs into someone, accidentally causing the person to drop whatever they were holding. It was soon revealed to be a scientist.
The woman had curly red hair tied up in a mid-length ponytail, with some bangs framing her face. She had a pair of green eyes concealed behind those large round spectacles. She was wearing a lab coat on top of a green turtleneck top. She had on a short black skirt, with black stockings and a pair of brown pumps.
Lei reached out his hand to help the woman up. He also assisted in helping her gather her binder and her folders as he helped her up. Lei then took note of her name-tag that read, “Kurisutobiccu Erisu”. Lei knew that it was just a Japanese translation to her real name. Just like how Lei’s name is displayed as “Rei Uron”.
“I’m sorry madam. I didn’t watch where I was going.”
“You are fine.” She gave him a smile. “I was not paying any attention, either.”
“So, you’re a scientist?”
“Actually, not yet. I am just an intern studying to be a geneticist.”
“Interesting. I was wondering what a pretty woman such as yourself is doing here dressing up like a scientist.” Lei said somewhat flirting with the woman. He wasn’t interested in dating her, but perhaps if he could charm this woman, he could convince her to give him information on Kazuya’s experiments.
However, the woman really didn’t react too well with Lei’s flirting as she frowned. “Ugh. Men. You are such pigs!”
Of course, there is always this reaction.
“Well, I didn’t mean to be insulting. It’s just that…”
“What? Just because my reproductive organs are on the inside instead of the outside, doesn't mean I can't be a scientist!”
Smooth. Lei needed to make a recovery. “I never said that.” He waived his hands up in defense. “Just… you’re really cute. I figured that would make your day.”
“Of course. Typical of a man. You think my entire self-worth is based on compliments I get on my looks?”
“No, no, no…” Jun responded the exact same way when Lei tried to flirt with her. Lei honestly had to change his approach. “Forgive me. Look, I know we got off on the wrong foot, but is there any way I can make it up to you?”
“Start treating me as your equal instead of some dainty little woman you can sweet-talk.”
“Okay. Well, I suppose we can start by introducing ourselves. The name is Lei. I’m a martial artist and competitor of the Second Iron Fist Tournament.” Lei reached out his hand for the woman to shake.
The woman took it. “I don’t have a doctorate’s just yet, but I want you to call me Dr. Kristovitch.”
“Nice to meet you Dr. Kristovitch.”
“What Martial Arts do you study?”
“Self-taught Kenpo. With a few moves splashed here and there. I have a fight later on with Bruce Irvin. It’d be great if you come watch.”
“I suppose if I have time I can do that.”
“Great. So, are you busy?”
“Yes I am quite busy. I have to deliver my findings to Dr. Bosconovitch.”
Bingo. This is it! This is my key in.
“Is it okay if I walk with you?”
The woman looked around and sighed as she shrugged. “I suppose it will not hurt.”
“Great.”
The pair walked down the hall, with Lei assuming a relaxed posture.
“Where are you from, Lei?”
“Hong-Kong. I’m pretty sure you could tell by my accent.”
“Yes. I knew you were from somewhere in the Asian continent. But you weren’t from Japan.”
“What about you? Where in Europe are you from?”
“Poland.”
“Wow, you must be far away from home. Do your folks miss you at all?”
“My parents do not agree with me travelling halfway across the globe to study science. They told me that I should have already been married a long time ago.”
“Have you thought about settling down?”
“No. I do not have time to start a family. I’m too busy working on research. Besides, I don’t want kids anyway. All they do is get in the way.”
Lei could somewhat agree with the woman. But he loved his son very dearly. His ex-wife on the other hand, not so much. Catherine was always complaining and nagging about how Lei never has time for them. But it is what it is. After what happened to his partner, and being exposed to the dangers of police work, Lei felt it was best that Catherine raises their son alone. He was going to miss his son, but it’s for the best.
“Yeah. I like your dedication.” He honestly did.
“Good. So you respect me as your equal.”
“Of course, Dr. Kristovitch. I never looked down at you at all. You’re a pretty woman. I know you hate hearing that, but believe me, every straight man will tell you this.”
“Yes. Does not help that I have red hair like Julia Roberts.”
“Yeah… but you’re prettier than her.”
She was finally opening up. Good. Lei watched as the woman looked to the side and blushed, placing her hand on her cheek.
Finally the two made it to Dr. Bosconovitch’s office. Lei followed the woman inside as she handed him her papers. He read through them before finally taking notice of Lei.
“Who is this?”
“I’m Lei. I’m a fighter. I was just escorting this kind young lady here safely to your office. You must be Dr. Bosconovich.”
“Yes.”
“I’ve read about your work in robotics and prosthetics.”
“Yes, indeed.”
“But I won’t keep you long. I’ll just go head on out. Nice to meet you.”
“Good luck.”
Lei then left the room, but Dr. Kristovitch grabbed his arm. “Where are you going?”
“I’ve got to warm-up for my match!”
The woman nodded. “Make sure you beat up Bruce. I want you to win.”
“Thanks. I appreciate it.”
Lei stepped out of the room, but he stood by and listened in on the two. He pulled out his tape recorder that he had hidden in his lose-fitting Cheongsam, and immediately recorded the conversation.
“Interesting… so you think that we should collect DNA from the tournament participants?”
“Yes. These people have it in their genes to be strong, capable fighters. If we merge some of the DNA with our test-subjects, we might be able to create a new breed of super soldiers.”
“Whom should we collect DNA from?”
“I feel like the Williams Sisters are a great candidate. You can tell that Nina and Anna come from a powerful bloodline of fighters. Nina’s mother, Johanna is an Aikido champion. And the late Richard Williams was one of IRA’s top agents.”
“I see. Any other candidates?”
“Paul Phoenix. He fought Kazuya to a draw. He’s certainly one of the strongest fighters on the roster.”
“Well, I’ll let you continue your research. I’ll be sure to let the school know of your work.”
“Thank you, Dr. Bosconovitch.”
Lei clicked the recording and left right then.
The Mishima Zaibatsu is making super soldiers and using DNA from various fighters. Hmm… Fong? Is this what you died for?
Lei wasn’t sure how to press charges, but he was going to give Jun this information. Maybe ask Jun out for dinner, sometime, too while he is at it.

Fulong Starts Rebuilding The Lei Village (Takes place just before Fulong's first appearance in the RP) --------------- “The preparations are complete, Mr. Lei.”
Fulong signed off on a clipboard as the foreman stood there and waited. Fulong hands him back the clipboard as he shakes hands with the foreman.
“You won’t be disappointed, sir.”
“Come, let’s have a quick tour, shall we?”
“Of course.”
Fulong lead the foreman down through the broken gate as he walked through this abandoned and empty village. He stops at a well.
“You see this, Mr. Qong? This is the well that my grandmother used to get water from. As you can see…” Fulong drew the bucket from the well, as it revealed that it had run dry. “There is no water. With no water, there’s no life.”
Fulong then let the bucket go. He lead the man through some broken down buildings and showed him an old stable.
“Father used to tell me stories about the horses that the kin owned. He was going to have his very own horse at the age of 13. And of course, you knew what happened next. Instead of building a stable there, how about we put in a garage, instead?”
“It will be done, sir!”
“Good.”
The two walked away from the stable and came across an abandoned field with some tall grass.
“And these lands, used to belong to the women in the clan. It was their duty to take care of the livestock while the men were away at war. I hope to one day see these lands fully restored to its former glory.”
Finally the two reached to the edge of the village where the stone walls were falling apart.
“For generations, Shen and his three sons built these walls to protect the women and the children during the war and times of peace. Neighboring clans would often try and invade our village, but of course they never succeeded. Then of course everything went wrong one day. Father told me that the second he saw these walls fall, he knew it was over for our clan. One my call my grandfather a coward for leaving his village with his wife and son, but it ensured that the Lei Clan would continue to thrive. This is why it is my duty to restore our clan to it’s former glory. First I will start by rebuilding this village. Then I will move my family there. And hopefully, my grandson will bear forth a lot of children. I know I can’t convince my kid-brother to relocate here.”
“Well, it’s going to be five years before this village is restored.”
“It’s fine. After all, Rome wasn’t built in a day.”
What are you up to these days, Little Wulong! I hope you went and married Pai and brought forth more descendants for our Father… I will go see the Oracle.

Zakk and Lei Meet (Takes place 3 years after Maya's Death in 2008) ----------------------------------- Lei laid there on the couch, doing nothing but staring up at the ceiling. It’s been a few years, but he could never quite let go. His fiancée died in his very arms. Lei looked at the empty beer bottle, tossing it on the floor as he groaned.
Lei looked like he had seen better days, his medium-length hair, extended past beyond his waist. It was unkempt, as his face was rough due to him not shaving and having stubbles. It was the anniversary of their wedding… had she lived. Lei couldn’t help but wonder what would have happened if she lived? What if he had destroyed the evidence? What if he and Maya had a family?
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Lei quickly unlocked the door, unlatching the chain lock, the deadbolt, and the lock before opening the door to take note of a blonde woman holding a baby, with a young brunette boy accompanying her. He also took note of a taller brunette man standing next to her.
“Come in.” He said, motioning for the woman and her family to step in.
They noticed that the apartment was bare, empty, save for a chair and a TV. So nobody knew exactly where to sit. Lei frowned as he recognized the woman, placing his hands in his pockets.
“Catherine, now is really not the time…”
“Wulong, I want you to meet your son, Zachary.”
Lei looked at the young brunette boy. Zakk had long hair like his dad, and he had those beautiful hazel eyes. This was the first time Lei has seen his child in ten years. Lei had a mix of emotions running through right now. He had almost forgotten he had a son at this point. He was too busy thinking about Maya and him, and their beautiful family, that he forgot about his own son.
Immediately, Lei flung his arms around the boy who pushed them away.
“What is the meaning of this!?” The boy asks.
“Wanrei… I’m your dad. Don’t you remember?”
“Pops? But you… look so different!”
For the first time in a few years, Lei had a genuine content smile. “People change in ten years… I’ve been through some stuff.”
“You smell weird.”
Lei shook himself. “Alright. Look, I’ll take a shower, and let’s learn some martial arts, okay? Catherine, go ahead and spend time with your new husband and son. I’ve got this one.”

Wilson Saves Zakk from a Bunch of Bullies (Zakk is seven years old, Takes place in 2001) ---------------------------------------------------------------- A small young brunette boy found himself getting pushed around by some taller, bigger and intimidating kids. He was tormented by those bullies day in and day out. Often teased because he was a “half-breed” and had no father.
“Aww, what’s the matter? Wanna go run home to your daddy? Oh yeah! You don’t have one!”
His bangs hid his eyes as he slumped down in a corner. His father abandoned him. Of course he would want nothing to do with him. To makes matters worse, his father was Chinese. And his mother was English. He was indeed a half-breed. His own father wanted nothing to do with him, leaving this burden to be left by his mother.
“Get away from him, dudes!” Someone jumped in.
“Oh, Ricky! Go back to your chess club!”
“Leave Zachary alone!”
The little boy then watched as the bullies turned their attention to Ricky, a portly, curly-haired brunette with glasses. Out of anger, Zakk jumps in, punching one of the bullies in the nose, and the other in the cheek.
It wasn’t long before the teachers came in and broke up the fight. Zakk then looked to Ricky.
“What’s your name.”
“I’m Wilson. I know, you’re Zachary, that half-breed whose father left him when he was four.”
“Yes…”
“Look, I know it sucks! But can I be your friend? I don’t have any friends. And I know you don’t have any friends…”
“Yes. It’s fine.” Zakk smiled. “We can be friends, Wilson. Thanks for defending me.”
“It’s nothing. We’re friends, right?”
“Right.”

Elise Sobers Up (Two years before Tekken 3 right after Elise hitting rock bottom)
It has been several weeks since Elise awoke from her coma. Natalia offered to look after Elise, despite not being there when she was in a coma. She felt guilty and since Natalia was a stay at home mom, she could look after Elise.
She hasn’t really been doing too well. She’s zoned out most of the time and she’s always shaking and sweating a lot.
Elise sat up in her bed as her white-haired sister came in.
“Elise, how are you feeling?”
“Horrible…” She rubs her head.
“I can’t give you any more medicine.”
“I don’t need medication. I need vodka.”
“But you’re going to sober up.”
“Why do I have to? What is even the point of living anymore?”
“You haven’t met your one true love.” Natalia declared giving Elise hope.
“That’s because I won’t!”
“You don’t know that! Look, right after you recover… I bet you Mr. Right will walk into your life. He's going to be rich, he'll take care of you, and he'll gladly have kids with you.”
“Natalia! I have DOR! It is impossible!”
“You could always adopt. Plus, remember, Elise… Mom was around your age when she had you.”
Elise couldn’t help but smile. “And what makes you certain that my one true love is a man?”
“Because that’s natural.”
Elise rolled her eyes groaning. “So was my marriage to Haruka.”
“That’s the problem! Haruka was trying to be a man and didn’t know how! Listen, I know you love both men and women… and you obviously prefer women. But, I think you need a man. A real man. Not a woman pretending to be a man…”
Elise giggled a little. “Men are… a bit different from women.. Not just sexually, but relationship-wise, too.”
“See…?”
“I honestly prefer women because the sex is better. But my male relationships are more stable, but the sex is boring. However, it is easier to make a baby.” Elise thought outloud.
Natalia was a little embarrassed. “So…”
“I don’t really pick… which sex I date… just relationships happen to blossom.”
“But I am very certain that you were meant to be with a man. He's also going to be really good in the sack, too if that is what you want.”
“He sounds too perfect to be real.”
“Oh he exists. Trust me. I met my match in college...”
“And he ruined your career.” Elise said.
“No, no, no… Elise, everyone knows that going to college is the best place to meet a man! In fact, Elise! You’re a scientist! Why don’t you work at the school? You get to do experiments and stuff! Oh and you can meet a guy!”
Elise liked her sister’s idea but a man is the last thing that Elise needed right now. All she really needed right now was vodka.
“And you need to forget Katya. It wasn’t meant to be. This is a lesson. Never try to play God.”
“I could have saved her!” Elise shouted. “We could have been happy together!”
“You said it yourself, she was just an experiment!”
“But she’s my daughter!”
“No, she’s not, Elise! She’s an abomination that you created with all your twisted experiments!”
Elise then started crying. “But I loved her!”
“You were fantasizing and filling a void. Find yourself a good man. He'll take care of everything.”
Elise had an idea.
“Natalia, hand me your phone, please?”
“Okay, Okay! But don’t use it to order alcohol!”
Elise nods, being handed her sister’s phone. Elise immediately called Antonio. Thankfully, he picked up.
“Hello?”
“Antonio!”
“Elise? Elise! You’re alive! What happened? You literally just dropped off the face of the Earth.”
“Listen, I have had a rough life, but now… I must know… how is Katya?”
Natalia grabbed the phone. “HEY! I told you to forget about that monster!”
“She’s not a monster! She’s my daughter! She’s me!”
“The more you think about her, the harder it is for you to move on and find yourself a man… just let go of that … thing! And focus more on getting yourself open and ready for a fulfilling relationship. In fact, I know just the guy who would be perfect for you, but you need to sober up.”
Elise sighed. However, she heard Antonio’s voice on the other line, “I think I can get her out of there…”
Soon, Elise’s eyes lit up with joy. She finally had what she was looking for: hope. Elise finally saw the light and realized why she needed to sober up. She wanted to be the one to welcome Katya to her new home. Call it fantasizing, but that was all Elise was focused on. She didn’t want to be in a relationship, she just wanted Katya, and she wanted a child. That was her source of happiness. She finally had it figured out. Even if Katya died, maybe one day, she will have a child of her own. Finally, she will be happy.
Eventually, Natalia hung up.
“I think I know what I must do.” Elise finally declared.

Elise and Lei go on a double date (no time frame just not canon) ---------------------- “Wulong Lei! What is taking you?” Elise shouted as she banged on the bathroom door.
“Look, Elise… give me a minute, okay?”
“You have been in the bathroom for thirty minutes now! What could possibly be taking you?”
“Elise, my hair is delicate.”
“Finish your hair in the bedroom! I need to pee!”
“You need to pee? Too bad, looks like urine trouble!”
Elise didn’t get the pun at first but once she did, she let out a slight groan.
Li-Mei then showed up, looking at Elise, blinking at her. She knocked on the door.
“Baba, I need to pee!”
“Alright. Come in, Li-Mei.”
Lei opened the door to allow Li-Mei inside. She immediately ran in and handled her business. He turned away as he looked at Elise.
“I had to pee! And you let her go!”
“Well, when Li-Mei has to go, she has to go! Well, you can go, too just after Li-Mei.”
When the little girl was done, Lei lifted her up and assisted her in washing her hands before putting her down. He helps her dry her hands and lets her go wander off. Elise then takes her seat on the toilet to handle her business. Lei continued to comb his hair.
“Wulong, I feel like this would be good for us, you know? As a couple to hang out with other couples. See how well we mesh with other couples.”
“Yeah?”
“It should bring us closer.”
“I’m pretty sure that we're already close enough.” He chuckled.
“Why do you say that?”
“Because… we're making eye-contact while you’re literally pissing like a meter in front of me.”
Elise nods. “True. Very true. However, we cannot be late.”
“I will admit. You’re kinda’ cute. Just the way that you sit on the toilet. It’s just… cute. Especially the way you wiggle your butt before you sit down.”
Elise finished and stood up as she made her way to the sink to wash her hands. “You really find it cute?”
“Yes… a lot of things you do is cute.” Lei managed to pull his bangs and hair back into a man-bun. With his hair styled this way, his oriental features were more pronounced. “How do I look?”
“Great! I love it!”
“We're going out with a gay couple. I need to look my best.”
“That is correct.”
Lei then walks over and undoes Elise’s bun, shaking her hair everywhere. He also rips up Elise’s long skirt, shortening it to just above her knees.
“Wulong!”
He lightly taps her butt. “Let loose. We're going out with a pair of gay kids. We can’t have you look like a librarian.”
Lei had a point.
“Alright. But, you need to get dressed! We are already running late.”
“I know just the thing to wear.”
Elise and Lei both later showed up at the restaurant. Elise had her shoulder-length hair worn loose. Her blouse was now a red halter-top as her now short-skirt was black. Lei talked her into not wearing tights and opted she go barefoot underneath her red pumps (though she wore a sheer foot sock underneath that her shoes covered). She was showing more skin than she normally would.
Lei decided to go with a black T-shirt and jeans, along with his brown loafers. As the two arrived at the restaurant, they eventually found Sorin and Claudio.
“I apologize for being late.” Elise began.
“Oh wow, look at you, Dr. Kristovitch! I didn’t know you knew how to let loose!” Sorin blurted out.
“Well… you see, Wulong and I_”
“It’s a little too much red, but it’s a start.”
“Too much red?” Lei complained. “More like not enough red!”
“Green is such a good color on her. Red really doesn’t suit her.”
“Green? Red is totally her color!”
“Green brings out her eyes. Don’t you see?”
“Eh, fair enough. But you got to admit, red makes her look sexy.”
Elise looked at Claudio who shrugged. Finally, Sorin and Lei were both quiet as they sat at the table.
Elise and Lei both read through the menu as Claudio and Sorin did the same.
“So, Lei, I see you cut your hair.” Sorin said out loud.
“Actually, no… I was simply trying out a new hairstyle. I have long hair, I can mold it into different styles.” Lei smiled. “I tried keeping my hair at shoulder-length, but it just keeps growing no matter how many trips to the barber I go to.”
“It’s a good look on you.”
Lei smiled. “Thanks. I might try that style more.”
“I told him that it shows off his 'masculine' side.”
“Masculine side? What’s that supposed to mean?”
Elise giggled. “It makes you look rugged. Wiser and more mature. I like it.”
“Is that so?”
Sorin nodded.
“Your hair actually looks like mine.” Claudio commented.
“It does! Wulong, was Claudio the inspiration for your new hairstyle?”
“Uh, no… actually Lee Byung Hun inspired me. I saw his movie, Inside Men, and thought hmm… what if I styled my hair in that way?”
“Never saw it.” Claudio commented.
“It’s pretty good. I don’t want to spoil anything. Just watch it. It’s on Netflix.”
Elise nods. “Yes, I enjoyed the movie. I knew your hair looked familiar!”
“Alright! We’ll check it out sometime! You’re the movie expert, Lei! I’ll keep your movie choices in mind!”
After the two ordered their food, Lei wrapped an arm around Elise’s shoulders, leaning back as he let out a heavy exhale of relaxation.
“You know, I haven’t really been on a double-date before.” Lei muttered.
“You haven’t?” Elise asked.
“It’s a first time for me, too.” Claudio added.
“It’s a lot of fun!” Elise giggled, showing off her playful side. “Back when I was in college, I used to go on double dates with my dates and the girls! I enjoyed it.”
“That was a long time ago.” Lei commented. “You know, what I was used to, a date was between you and your partner. And I did kind of hang out with couples… but only because of karaoke night, or bowling night, or_”
“You actually went out and did fun stuff?” Sorin asked Lei. He was surprised that the Super Cop really did anything fun.
“Yeah. Still do.” He smiled. “Just hard to do with my schedule, but when I get a chance, I like to go invite my friends out for a night of karaoke.”
“Wulong is a really good singer!”
“Is he now? Let’s hear!”
“I’m really curious.”
Lei didn’t really appreciate being put on the spot all of a sudden. Since everyone expected to hear him sing, Lei simply cleared his throat and hummed a few times. He beat at his chest before finally singing.
“Hurry boy, it’s waiting there for you! It’s gonna take a lot to drag me away from you! There’s nothing a hundred men or more could ever do! I bless the rains down in Africa… Gonna take some time to the things we never haaaaaaaaaaaveeeeeee…”
Lei coughed up at the last part, as that last line really strained his throat.
“That’s impressive!” Sorin said. “How did you learn to do that?”
“It’s a secret hobby of mine.” Lei said, in a thick accent. “My peers always went to the bar, and they made me go sing in a booth. I seem to have a talent for it… but I’m no artist.”
“You should hone that talent.” Claudio suggested.
“I don’t have time. Plus, I’d rather use my skills to help people… not get hooked on drugs and get married to like women with ridiculously large asses!” Lei chuckled before looking at Elise. “Your ass is fine, love. It’s such a nice, round, bubbly size.”
“Behave you, two!”
Once the food arrived, the four then immediately dug in. Elise grabbed some of Lei’s food, as Lei jus sat there and grabbed some of Elise’s food. Sorin just smiled at how cute the couple is. Although he knew that the pair were in their late 40’s, they were kind of acting like a pair of teenagers. Meanwhile, Elise was just thinking how adorable Sorin and Claudio are. Everyone’s all being flirty and subtle with each other. However, Lei honestly didn’t think too much about it. He was just glad that he got to spend some time with Elise and hang out with some other people.
Once everybody was done with their meal, Sorin and Claudio both picked up their share of the tickets separately, while Lei grabbed his and Elise’s portion. Elise smiled at Lei as he took care of their bill. At first, Elise wasn’t comfortable with Lei spending money on her. But she eventually got used to it as she realized that was how Lei shows his affection. It had nothing to do with him wanting control or trying to buy her love, that’s just his nature. He’s a provider. He kind of reminded her of her dad, when he goes out traveling, he always brings her back a present.
“Oh, look at you! You’re paying for her meal! It must be serious between you two.”
“It is. Very serious.” Elise said, grabbing Lei’s arm as he was trying to calculate how much money in tips he was going to give the server.
“It was serious the moment we started dating.” Lei said.
“I heard through Zakk that the two of you first met when you went looking for Katya. How did you two end up together?” Sorin asked, curious about the pair.
The waitress picked up their bill as Lei had a hand on his forehead trying to recall the events. Elise knew her side of the story.
“I was looking for Katya. Your father told me she escaped, so I flew all the way down from Poland to go take her home. I was waiting for her arrival for three years now. But then I met Wulong. He made me laugh the first time I saw him. It just made me giggle a little when I saw him come from the kitchen, arguing with his son.”
“You've seen Stranger Things, right, honey? Well, Eleven was hiding in the kitchen, so naturally, I thought that was where they’d be hiding Katya.”
“I know! That's why I giggled a little. And then you were just… really nice to me… you were working so hard to help me find Katya.”
“I’m sure you missed the badge. It’s part of what I do, love. I search for missing people.” Lei smiled. “But yeah… if I remember correctly… Antonio asked me to go see you? I think? Or was that just my inner monologue? Look I was shitfaced…”
“You got drunk? Why for?”
“I was celebrating, and I think I accidentally drank too much. I was also trying to get information on you so I could ask you out the next day. But it all worked out in the end, so here we are!”
“You two are just so adorable!” Sorin said once more.
“That’s what your father said when Elise and I… started dating… if you can call it that?”
“You two are just so comfortable with each other, you have some inside jokes, it’s just cute!”
“You and Claudio are both so adorable, too! You’re both like a pair of snuggly cuddly bears! You two are just so cute together. How did you two meet?”
“Well, I was here in Japan on a business trip, and I happened to meet Sorin… and the rest was just history.”
“Aww…” Elise smiled.
Eventually the pair decided to leave as Lei promised them he’d chat with the pair later. Once the two got home, Lei couldn’t help but smile. It was pretty neat to hang out with a gay couple. The awkwardness of it faded for him, as he was quickly reminded that Elise likes, girls, too.
“Did you have fun?” Elise asked Lei.
“Yeah. I did. We should do this again sometime.” Lei smiled.

OTP Prompt #42 – Link Here (Elise and Lei Version)Elise just recently got herself a job at the university as a geneticists, and also an English professor (despite her English being a little sub-par, but Hong-Kong people automatically assume a white person should teach English). And since Elise wasn’t really too far from home, and Lei was off today, he was going to go over there to see her during her lunch break. Li-Mei also takes a liking to Elise and wanted to go see her, too. It was settled, the pair were going to walk to go visit Elise for lunch. Lei held Li-Mei’s hand as the two walked down the busy streets of Hong-Kong. He had a tight grip, not wanting the small child to get lost. “I can’t wait to see Dr. Kris at her job! I wanna see her lab!” “Well, I don’t think we have proper clearance for it, but she can give you a nice tour of the building if you want to go to college in fourteen years.” “Fourteen years! That’s a long time!” Lei chuckled. “Yeah, I’ve lived through fourteen years three times at least. I guess that makes me old, then?” “Baba, you’re not old…” “Oh, Li-Mei, I’m flattered. I feel really young though, so I guess you’re right about that.” She giggled at Lei’s comment, but soon Lei felt her hand slip from his hands. Lei immediately spun in his heels, looking for the small child. It’s not too uncommon for a child to get abducted during the day and he immediately assumed the worst. “Li-Mei!” He shouted, pushing through the crowd. “Li-Mei! Li-Mei! Li-Mei!!!” Lei looked around, searching for Li-Mei, until he encountered an alley that he had walked past. Lei then found his daughter, with her kidnapper placing a hand over her mouth, and another one over her wrist. “Get your damn hands off of her!” Lei shouted before curling his left hand into a fist and throwing a fierce punch at the kidnapper’s jaw, forcing him to release Li-Mei. Lei didn’t care about his language right now, besides “damn” wasn’t that vulgar of a word, anyway. Li-Mei immediately ran up to Lei feeling terrorized and violated. “Ba-Ba! Bad man took me!” “Shh, shhh.” Lei was trying to calm his scared daughter down, while checking to see if they did anything to her. All he found was a bruise on her tiny little wrist. Lei was furious. He got up, approaching the kidnapper as he cowered in fear. “Super Cop? I didn’t kn_” “Get away from her, you bitch!” He sends in a double-clawed dragon strike, stunning his opponent [Dragon’s Spite]. This left Lei with an opening to send in a right and left hook followed by a leaping double kick that launched his opponent against the wall [Yue Ya Lian Tui]. The perp slid down the wall, and Lei grabbed him by the throat, strangling him. Elise arrived on the scene after hearing a commotion outside her work. She had called the police and checked on Li-Mei. “Baba’s angry!” She said. Elise nodded. She’s heard that Lei has… a bit of a temper. But never knew exactly what triggered it until now. It was a little frightening, as she has never seen this sweet, kind, gentle man lose his calm before. Now, he’s just a violent, raging man. She didn’t know what to do, will he attack her if she approaches him? Elise then decided to approach Lei, placing a hand on his shoulder, allowing the man to glance at his girlfriend for a second. However, he turned his focus to his daughter’s would-be-kidnapper. “Wulong, please… he is not worth losing your badge over.” She began, speaking in a calm and soothing voice. “Let him go to prison and pay for his crimes. Let justice handle the rest. You said it yourself.” As the kidnapper was running out of oxygen, Lei loosened his hold and allowed the man to breathe as he fell on the ground. Lei then sent in a punch at his nose, intentionally breaking it. The police eventually arrive as the paramedics checked the injuries as Lei explains his side of the story. It was a long rest of the day as Lei managed to calm down by taking Li-Mei out to the playground and joining her, as well as watching every Disney movie with her until she fell asleep. The day was over as Lei tucked Li-Mei in, kissing her. He checked the windows, and closed her door as Elise stood outside Li-Mei’s room, waiting on him. Lei didn’t waste any time throwing his face in Elise’s shoulders. “I was so terrified, Elise! I thought they were going to sell her!” Elise pats Lei’s back. “I know… I was just as scared as you were…” Elise lead Lei to the couch as he held tighter to Elise. “I almost killed a man today! He took her! I was going to kill someone for touching my daughter… I… lost my calm…” “I probably would have done the same.” “Thank you.” “For what?” “For being there for me…” He lets go to look at Elise in the eyes. “I would have lost control had you not showed up.” Elise smiled. “Of course… I was afraid you would hit me.” “I would never lay a finger on you. Ever, even if I’m angry… I would never ever hurt you. Please remember that.”

Katya Babysits Li-Mei (Takes place a two weeks after Arc 1 ended)
Elise and Lei were both in Hong-Kong and the couple were about to go on a date. Cheyenne was going to be busy studying for finals with her friends. It was up to Katya to babysit Li-Mei. Elise wasn’t comfortable about it, given how unstable Katya is, but Lei had faith in her. Plus, he insisted that it was good for Katya to interact with a child. It also gives her independence skills, to boot. Not to mention, the pair both have active imaginations, and good for Katya to expand her horizons. After Lei explained everything to Katya about Li-Mei and her bedtime, as well as the “one-candy” rule but not an hour before her bedtime. Also the whole, “no soda” rule, too unless it was caffeine and sugar-free. After Katya got the information, Elise and Lei were both off and out on a date. This left Katya alone with Li-Mei.
“What do you want to do Li-Mei?” Katya asked, sitting on the couch as Li-Mei hopped on the couch and joined her.
“Did your Baba break up with your Mama, too?” Li-Mei asked innocently.
Katya didn’t expect this question. “Um… well… actually… um… yes. He did.” She couldn’t explain to a small child that she’s her mother’s clone and her real father is dead. And she was spliced from Kazuya's Devil Cells, making him her father in a way. “I see him sometimes.”
Li-Mei placed her hand over Katya's hand and stared straight into her eyes. “I understand. I wonder what would happen if I never get to see Baba. It must really hurt not to see your Baba much.”
Katya smiled nervously and shook her head. “No, no, no! It’s okay! My Baba was a very bad man!”
Li-Mei hugged Katya. She didn’t expect this either. “I am so sorry to hear!
“It’s fine…”
Li-Mei tilted her head innocently after letting go of Katya. “I like your Mama. Maybe she and Baba can get together, and we can share Baba! You know, I didn’t like your Mama at first. I didn’t like you either at first. But your Mama is a scientist like Twilight Sparkle! That’s so cool! Must be awesome having a cool Mama! I wish my Mama was that cool… she just…” Li-Mei paused to think for a second. “Travels a lot. And she has no job. I hate Mr. Zhang, though. He’s a cop like Baba, but he’s kinda’ mean.”
Katya listened to Li-Mei’s rambling. It was good to know that the little cherub liked her mom. However, she felt bad for her. Who was Mr. Zhang? “Mr. Zhang is mean to you?”
Li-Mei nods. “Well, he’s not hurting me or hitting me, he just ignores me a lot. Plus, he took Mama away from me. That’s why I wanted to stay with Baba instead of Mama.”
“I see.”
“Mr. Zhang and Mama won’t even play ponies with me! Baba plays ponies with me all the time!”
“Ponies?”
“Yes! My Little Pony! I’m Rainbow Dash, and Baba is Pinkie Pie! You make a great Fluttershy!”
“Okay…” Katya wasn’t sure what to say to that.
“If your Mama and my Baba both get married like Mr. Zhang and Mama, I get an awesome older sister like you! I like you, Katya.”
“Thanks.” Katya found herself somehow liking this girl. She was just so adorable and kind to her. She doesn’t discriminate.
“Do you want to play house with me?”
Kayta shrugged. “Um… okay? What are the rules?”
“I’m the Mama! You be the kid!”
“Okay… so… what do I…”
“Go to bed!” Li-Mei shouts.
“But I…”
“Don’t you back-talk me young lady! Go to bed!”
Katya was genuinely confused by this.
“Go to bed, Katya!”
“Okay…” Katya just did what Li-Mei asked and laid on the couch. Li-Mei grabs a magazine that had movie posters on it and sits next to Katya.
“Once upon a time there was a mermaid. She fell in love with a human. Then the human fell in love with her and she grew legs and they made babies! The end!” Li-Mei puts the magazine down.
Katya wasn’t sure what kind of story that was.
“You’re suppose to go to sleep.” Li-Mei whispered to Katya.
“okay…” She closes her eyes.
“DING DING DING! SUN'S UP! TIME TO GO TO SCHOOL!” she jumps on Katya who sprung awake.
“But you told me_”
“BREAKFAST TIME!”
Katya jumped. “Um… okay?”
“I will go get food!”
“Um…”
Li-Mei gets up and runs off to the kitchen. She returns with some snacks. She gives it to Katya. Katya was very confused by this child. If she’s this hyperactive on a daily basis, then she wonders how much worse she could possibly get under the influence of candy or soda. After eating the snacks, Li-Mei grabbed Lei’s glasses and they were obviously way too big on her, but they still sat on her nose anyway.
“I’m your teacher Mrs. Bao! Pop quiz time! What color is Optimus Prime?”
Katya was again disoriented and confused by this. She didn’t even know who Optimus Prime is or what is he? Is he a pony, too?
“Magenta?”
“EEEEEEEEEK! WRONG! Optimus Prime is red and blue, silly! Sorry, you failed my class! Get out!”
“But…”
“Get out!”
Li-Mei then put the glasses down. She then mimics an adult’s posture as she puts her hands on her hips and one hand pointed at Katya. “You have brought dishonor to this family! You are grounded!”
“B_b_but what’s an_”
“Don’t you back-talk me! Into your room, young lady!”
Katya has never been more confused in her entire life. This little girl… so unpredictable.
Elise and Lei both eventually returned from their date night, to find Katya with her hair a mess, looking very tired and worn out. Lei couldn’t help but chuckle as Elise looked on in concern.
“What happened, Wulong?”
“Oh, I forgot to mention, Li-Mei inherited my ADHD. Whoops, sorry about that.”
Katya groaned.
“She has ADHD? Shouldn’t she take medicine for it?”
Lei shrugged. “I don’t take medicine for it and I’m doing just fine.”
“You might seriously have to consider it.” Elise said, sternly looking at Lei.
“Maybe if it causes her serious problems down the road.”
“How do you keep up with her?” Katya asked.
Lei shrugged. “I’m a hyperactive nut like she is… I guess?”

OTP Prompt #42 – (Fanglise Version Context: It’s nothing to do with Tekken but the story takes place in 1995, so there will be some dated 90’s references. Also, this takes place maybe a month or two after Donovan's death and a month or two before the epilogue.)
Alise had just moved to Washington, DC to be with her boyfriend, Special Agent Jack Fang. It was sad to leave all of her friends behind, but they understood why she did it. Alise didn’t just do it out of love, but also… considering what had happened to Donovan and his fallen drug empire (especially her involvement in it), it was best that she relocate and start a new life. The US Government agreed to give Alise her official US Citizenship Document, as well as giving it to all of her kids as well. It was lunch time for Jack, and Alise wanted to surprise him with some hand-made lunch. Ana wanted to go with her, but Zakk wanted to stay behind as he didn’t like Jack very much. So, Alise took her small daughter with her.
“Mr. Fang!” Ana shouted.
“Yes, we’re going to go see him together.” Alise smiled, walking down the block with the toddler’s hand in her hands. “His office is just around the corner.”
The woman pointed at an eight-story building with a lot of windows that was wedged-shaped. It had an extra story on top, with what looked like a breezeway below the extra story that had a lot of windows on it as well. Ana looked at the building, staring in wonder.
“Mr. Fang has an office!”
Alise nods smiling. “Yes. He is an FBI Agent. Remember? It is his job to stop crime at a federal level.”
“Cool… so he catches bad people like Mr. Donovan.”
“Yes. That was his case.”
“Cool…”
Just as Alise was going to reach over to pick up her daughter, she sensed some dark intent. Alise had let go of her daughter to find this intruder, only to realize that she was gone. Alise looked around, traveled far and wide, but eventually ran back through the alleyway that she and her daughter had just passed through.
It was there she saw a man in a ski-mask, dragging her daughter as he held her mouth and took her wrist as he was going to drag her into a van. Alise drops the lunchbox as she dashes to the man, kicking him in the chest. She bounces off of him as she grabs her daughter.
“Anastasia, are you okay?”
Ana nods.
Alise took note of the bruise on the girl’s wrist. The man then recovered looking at the two girls.
“Ahh, a two for one deal. We have a Russian woman and her daughter. That will be interesting.”
The man reached behind to grab Alise by her waist, but Alise quickly reacted by sending in a kick to the man’s shin. She spun around and sends a side-chop to his throat, followed by a kick to his chin that launched the man in the air. Alise lunches forward, as the man then charged to attack Alise. She ducks the incoming attack, kicking the man in the face once again. She knees him in the stomach, stunning him. This left the woman with an opening to jump up in the air and wrap her legs around her attacker, intending to strangle him and kill him. Ana watched in horror as she was witnessing her mother take another life. Luckily for her, Jack showed up, clad in his back suit as he checked on the girl.
“What happened?”
“Bad man try to take us!”
“Okay.”
Jack took note of the bruise and handed a passerby some quarters and instructed him to go to the payphone and call the police. He rolled up his sleeves as he dove in to handle the dispute.
“Hey, Alise! Honey, I thought we agreed that you weren’t going to kill people anymore!” He said in a joking manner.
Alise held the man’s neck even tighter as she was just about to snap his neck into two. “This man took my daughter! And tried to take me!”
Jack shook his head. “I know, but remember what we said about sometimes… we need to let the bad guy live so that they will be punished accordingly?”
“Yes, and how did that work out with Donovan?”
“He took his own life. Yes. But that doesn’t mean you should kill this man. Besides, it’s not worth it. If you’re going to kill someone, why not kill the Taliban before they take over Afghanistan! Kill Fidel Castro! Kill Kim Jong-il! Or join some Navy Seal Team! But this guy is a low-life. Let him go, honey. Please. Don’t make me have to arrest you.”
Reluctantly, Alise did as told, letting the man go, but not before hitting him in the nose before climbing off of him. The police arrive as Alise explains what had happened and Jack picks up his lunch immediately and starts eating it as Ana sat on his shoulders.
Later on, Alise tucks her two children into bed. After the nightly ritual was done, Jack stood outside, munching on a bag of Barbecue flavored Ray's potato chips. Alise immediately flung herself into Jack's arms. She broke down, sobbing and crying. Jack stroked her copper curls with his greasy hands.
“I thought it was Dr. Ivanoff!”
“It wasn’t. Just a sex- trafficking ring that targets toddlers.” Jack said trying to reassure the woman as he walks her to the living room.
Alise cried as she buried herself in Jack's chest, holding him tighter.
“I do not know what would have happened if they took Anastasia! I have fought so hard for her! And Zakhariya, too! My two kids…”
Jack just patted Alise.
“I wanted that man to die! I would have killed him!”
“Yes, I know and I would have had to arrest you.”
Alise then smiled. “Thank you for everything, Jack.”
“Anytime, Leasy.”
She then noticed that Jack's hand was greasy. "Jack..."
"Look, just wash your hair, it will come right out, and your clothes, too... the grease will come out. Trust me."

Lei and Li-Mei Cuteness
It was a rainy stormy night in Hong-Kong. Lei was glad that he wasn’t working night shift today. His hours weren’t always so consistent as sometimes he’ll work the morning shift and the next day, turn around and work the night shift. Then turn around and work the morning shift. Crime never sleeps, so of course Lei works all these strange and inconsistent hours. He couldn’t really sleep, either.
It was 2AM and he was on the couch, watching some midnight flicks. No matter how hard he tried to sleep, his eyes just wouldn’t close. Lei had so much on his mind right now, it was hard to sleep.
Interrupting his thoughts was the sound of tiny footsteps across the hardwood floors of his apartment. Lei was just about to spring up to investigate his intruder, but fought back his paranoia and adrenaline as he knows who that is.
Li-Mei appeared from the shadows not too long after, dragging her plush as she navigated the apartment. Lei immediately shot up and went to confront the small child. Her usual braided pigtails were loose as her long hair fell to her waist. She almost looked like a ghost in that pale-white shin-length nightgown that she was wearing.
“Baba!” She shouted as she reached out for a hug.
Lei held the girl, hugging her before letting go. “Why are you up?”
“I had a bad dream.” She squeezed her ram teddy bear.
“What happened?”
“Bad people took you away!” She shouted. “It was horrible!”
“Shh shh… it was a bad dream, okay?” He gave her a reassuring smile. “I’m still here. You’re awake now, it’s over.”
“But what if it happens for real?”
“It won’t.” Lei honesty meant it. He hoped he wouldn’t break that promise and break this young girl’s heart.
The girl reached her hand out as Lei did the same. He then closed his hand into a fist, to have only his pinky finger up. She then grabs the pinky, tugging on it.
“Promise me that you won’t let the bad people take you away!” Her eyes were fierce, despite being only a pint-sized toddler.
“I promise.” He said, in a serious tone.
“Good. I don’t want to go back to Mr. Zhang!” She turned away, hugging the ram tightly once more.
“What’s wrong? He’s a great guy!” Lei did wonder why his daughter didn’t like him. He didn’t think his former assistant was mean to his own child. The man literally worships the ground that Pai walks on. He’d be at least kind to Li-Mei, Pai’s child.
“He took Mama away from us!”
“He didn’t do that. Mama made a choice. She just decided that she didn’t love me anymore and loved Mr. Zhang.”
“He ignores me all the time just like Mama!”
“What do you mean? Describe how exactly he ‘ignores’ you?”
“When I want to go to the park or watch TV or play ponies, he always says no, he’s busy.”
“Detective work is demanding, you know?”
“But you don’t always say no you’re busy. You always have time for me. Even sometimes when I don’t see you for a few days, when you’re here, you actually pay attention to me!”
“Well, maybe it’s because you’re my daughter, and I love you.” He pats her head. “Mr. Zhang isn’t your Baba, so he doesn’t care about you as much as I do.”
“Are you going to get married?”
That was a random question. Count on the little girl to say what’s on her mind.
“Honestly, I don’t know. You probably already know, I’m not seeing anyone. My life is a little too busy for that. Mama made that clear.” And boy she did.
“I just want you to be happy. Mama and Mr. Zhang are very happy. You and Mama were happy together.”
“Li-Mei, I’m happy. I really am.” He flashed a smile. “You make me really happy.”
“I do? I’m glad!”
“Well, I think we should get back to bed. I’ve got a long day ahead for me tomorrow.”
Li-Mei nods. “Baba! Can I sleep with you tonight? I will sleep better this way.”
“Yes, of course! I’m struggling to get some sleep, myself, too.” Lei reached over to lift up Li-Mei in his arms.
“You can’t sleep, too, Baba?”
“Why else do you think I'm awake this early?” Lei chuckled.
He eventually arrives in his bedroom, setting Li-Mei down in the bed. Lei eventually joined the girl, pulling the blankets over them.
“Goodnight Li-Mei, see you in the morning.” He strokes her hair before reaching out to kiss her forehead.
“Goodnight, Baba.” She closes her eyes as she hugs the ram.
Lei smiles and takes a quick glance at Li-Mei before rolling over to face away from her. Li-Mei was right. Lei wasn’t really happy. Pai still left Lei feeling lovelorn and heart broken. But right now, all he could focus on is raising his daughter and his police work. Plus, the day Li-Mei was born, Lei was just so happy. And even happier that he gets to keep her and be a very important part of her life. Lei hoped that Li-Mei grows up to be a wonderful person. And he also hoped he'd live to see his grand-kids.

Cheyenne’s Big Break (Takes place sometime before Arc 2)
Warning: Prostitution, Drug references, Sexual References, Attempted Rape. Reader Discretion is Advised!
Cheyenne was at home alone, sighing as she had been looking for a big break. She searched the internet for anything that would help her star as an extra in a movie. An acting gig. Just anything. However, Cheyenne soon spotted the ad that she needed.
Female Models Wanted!
We are a talent agency based in Hong-Kong. We are currently searching for young women over 18 who would like to model for our magazines. We will pay you $1500 per a photo. We will provide you with the clothes to wear for the photo shoots. And don’t worry, you won’t be in any danger. Your safety and discretion is our main concern. If you are interested in working with this awesome team, come on down and meet us!
Cheyenne wrote down the address and jumped for joy. Hopefully they see her on magazines, and maybe she’ll even be able to get a job and jump-start her acting career.
She closes her laptop and leaves a post-it note on the fridge for her uncle that informs him of where she is headed. After everything was done, she gets in her car and heads to her destination.
Cheyenne arrives at the hotel. She meets with the receptionist who then directs her to the room where the photographers were awaiting her. The girl skipped and hopped in the elevator excited with the prospect of being the face of a magazine cover. She did wonder which magazine it was and noted that the Craigslist ad was a little bit vague.
“Don’t worry Cheyenne. You’re just going to wear some clothes and pose in front of the camera.”
Eventually the elevator pinged as Cheyenne stepped out, and found the room. She knocks on the door as she is invited inside. She takes a good look at the room, noticing several video cameras, which she found unusual.
She noticed that there were three guys in the room, and one of them was eyeing her up and down. And she also took note that all those men were probably in their 40’s or 50’s.
“I’m here!” She shouted excitedly.
“Ah, yes… Cheyenne Lei…” The man who looked her up and down stood up and shook her hand. “My name’s Jeffrey Wo.”
Cheyenne nods. “Nice to meet you.”
“You’re just the girl we need. You’re perfect!”
“Good…” She said. “So… why are we filming in a hotel room?”
“Well, we were going to film an interview with you before we do the photoshoot.”
“I see. But why interview me?”
“Well, you’re going to be a big star one day. And well, we’d like to have an interview of you.”
Cheyenne was a little suspicious. But she went with it anyway. The worst that they could possibly do is have her take nude photos. If that happens, she can just walk away.
“I’m Tony Yui.” Another man approached Cheyenne shaking her hand.
“Nice to meet you, too.”
She noticed that this man licked his lips. It was really gross how he did it, and left the young woman at unease.
“So, if you’d like, please sign some papers here. Just sign right here, right here, and right here."
Cheyenne nodded. She takes the papers and tries to skim through them, but Jeffrey interrupted her.
“Look it’s just a contract saying that you give us consent to use footage that we capture and upload it to the internet. Just basic disclaimer stuff.”
Cheyenne nods, signing the contract. “Good. Now go have a seat over there on the bed. We’ll go ahead and conduct the interview. Also, turn your phone off. We’re filming.”
Cheyenne did as told, taking a seat on the edge of the bed in front of the camera after turning her cellphone completely off.
“Alright. We need you to do exactly what we tell you to do, okay? And answer our questions, alright?”
“Alright.”
Cheyenne saw the camera was now on.
“Hi there, what’s your name?” Tony asks Cheyenne.
“I’m Cheyenne Lei Xiang Ying.”
“Ahh… and how old are you?”
“I’m 19. And I just finished senior school.”
“And what are you up to?”
“Just looking to put my foot in the door in the movie industry.” Cheyenne smiled. “I’m hoping to become a famous star one day.”
“Good. You’ve come to the right place. Now let me ask you, is that a dudou?”
“Ah, yes! It’s really hot outside! I also get to show-off my belly button ring.”
“I see… Can I touch it?”
“Um… well… that’s a weird request.”
“Why don’t you take off that dudou so we can get a nice look at those tits?”
Cheyenne’s eyes widen as she waves her hands, shaking her head. “Hold on! That’s unprofessional!” She stands up from the bed. “Jeffrey, did you just hear that?”
Jeffrey nodded, standing up. “Yes. Take off that dudou.”
“No! Fat chance! You can’t make me!” She assumes her fighting stance. Soon one man approaches her as Cheyenne catches his hand. She grabs his wrist, and kicks him in the side of his head, spinning around to send another kick to knock him down. Another man approaches her, and she quickly ducks and sends in a kick to his face.
“Let’s make a deal! You guys let me go, and I won’t tell the cops about this.”
“Actually, the police won’t listen to you, especially since you signed the contract.”
“I didn’t consent to_”
“Yes. It says here that you totally consent to participating in porn.”
Jeffrey shows Cheyenne the text on the contract that she signed.
“You bastard!”
“And if you go to the police, we’ll show your entire family that you willingly agreed to do it. Hell, you were so excited.”
She didn’t know exactly what to do. She could kick their asses and get her uncle on the phone, but technically, they aren’t doing anything illegal. She didn’t need her titties plastered over the internet. Better yet, what if Zakk masturbates to her? Yet again, it would be so embarrassing once the world knows she agreed to shoot a porn scene. Either way, she was screwed.
“So… how about that dudou?”
Cheyenne sighed.
“Now, do it in front of the camera with the same enthusiasm as earlier!”
The teen then sits back on the bed.
“Why don’t you take off that dudou so we can get a good look at those tits?”
Cheyenne smiled brightly. “Sure…” She was an actress. She had to pretend she was enjoying this. The worst part is that she isn’t even wearing a bra underneath this top. She had to do something.
Cheyenne reaches behind her back.
“Ooh, you’re such a natural. I like that. You’re giving us a little strip tease.”
Cheyenne smiled. “Yes. I’m sure guys prefer it if I did thinks nice and slow…” She unties one part of the outfit. She was still covered. “Is it fine if I do a little dance?”
“Yes, go ahead, dance for the camera.”
Cheyenne seductively dances in front of the camera, pretending to unhook the top part of her dudou, buying herself time. As she did the show, she looked at her surroundings. She needed to take the contract and exit the room. She then took note of the camera. If she takes out the camera, that will definitely preserve her modesty. Cheyenne also had to grab her phone. But how would she sneak past and get her phone?
“Alright… take off the top now… you’ve done enough.”
“Yes… of course, my pleasure…”
Cheyenne sent in a blinding fast kick that knocked over the camera, as well as knocking the camera-man unconscious. She then ties up her dudou.
“I tried to be nice… but now you’ve crossed the line you little bitch!”
Four men came charging at her, as Cheyenne quickly got on the floor, causing the four men to collide into each other. She then rolls under the bed, buying her some time. Cheyenne then darts toward the bathroom, locking the door behind her. She hears the men trying to bang the door down.
“You can’t hide in there forever!” They were going to bang down that door pretty soon. Cheyenne knows that it wasn’t going to keep her safe forever, but it will buy her some time. She soon had an idea.
Cheyenne grabs the free bottle of soap, conditioner, and shampoo and pours it all over the floor in front of the door. She hides behind the shower curtains as eventually the four men managed to break the door down.
“We were going to do a softcore scene, because you were so sweet and innocent. But you’re naughty, so you’re going to participate in a hardcore gangbang!” Jeffrey shouted.
Just as planned the men ran in, slipping and sliding as one guy smashed his head on the side of the toilet. One man then tries to grab Cheyenne from behind the bathtub. She then swings on the pole, jumping over her captor, landing on another captor. She then rolls and exits through the door. She then approaches the table where her cellphone and contract rested, unguarded. However, she felt someone try and grab her top. She quickly ducks, doing a sweep kick, followed by a roundhouse kick, sending Tony flying toward the door where he knocked over two more men.
Cheyenne then grabbed her phone and the contract and just as she was about to rip the contract, she heard the sound of a gun clicking. She immediately stopped in her tracks.
“Enough with the foreplay, you naughty little bitch!”
Cheyenne turned around, facing Jeffrey. This is a real gun. She was genuinely scared as she really didn’t need to die. Would this man kill her? What if her uncle found out about this? She held her hands up in the air, looking away as she did not want to look into the barrel of the gun.
“There you go… now take off that top. Do it nice and slow for the boys.”
Cheyenne took several steps back as the Jeffrey and Tony and some hungry men approached her.
“Don’t be shy. Take off that top… Now! Before I shoot you!”
“You wouldn’t dare!” Cheyenne said, bravely. She knew she was stupid baiting him, but this man probably isn’t going to shoot. After all, he shoots her, he’s got a murder to cover up.
“Don’t test me, you little brat!”
“What could you possibly gain by shooting me? For starters, I’m dead. So you lost your ‘big star.’ Second off, you have to cover up the murder and hide my body. My family will know right away that I have gone missing.”
“Clever little girl. Too bad you weren’t smart enough not to fall for this. While killing you would set me back, every day, a young girl is turning 18. Every day a girl will become desperate for cash. Every day she will come here. Listen, little bitch, you may think you’re a big star and all, but in the end, you’re just another girl. There will be more girls like you. So I don’t need you alive.”
Cheyenne then looked at Jeffrey in the eyes. “What if I told you that I am the Super Cop’s niece?”
“Really now?” He was interested. “Is that true?”
Cheyenne nods. She knows that she basically put a target on her back. But this was the only way to keep her alive and keep her modesty intact. “If you kill me, you lose a huge bargaining chip against my uncle.”
“You think you’re so smart. You think you can tell me what to do? You made a grave mistake.”
“You’re the one who done fucked up, Jeffrey!”
The men then approached her.
“We can blackmail the Super Cop with footage of you getting raped. He’s going to listen to my demands if he wants to keep this whole thing a secret. After all, he can’t have a slutty niece running around on the internet, can’t we?”
Cheyenne’s eyes widen. Her plan totally backfired.
“You see, I’m in control! Now it is in your best interest to take off that top! And get down on your knees while you’re at it!”
Cheyenne let out a defeated sigh. Just as she was about to undress, there was a knock on the door.
“Hong-Kong Police! Open up!”
“Damnit!” Jeffrey then ran over and held Cheyenne as a hostage, placing the gun on the side of her head.
The door was eventually kicked down as Cheyenne saw her uncle in a uniform and several other uniformed officers behind him. She was so glad to see him. Lei kept a stern look, not even losing his calm when he sees Cheyenne. He hastily has his gun pointed at Jeffrey.
“Jeffrey Wo, I’m placing you under arrest for the illegal production of pornography, and your involvement in sex trafficking and drugs trade!”
“Do you recognize this girl?” Jeffrey taunted. “Do you?”
“No. I don’t know her.” Lei said flatly.
“Really now? So you won’t care if I shoot this little girl!”
“Do you really want to add voluntary manslaughter to the list of charges I have on you?” Lei replied.
“What’s the point? I’m going to jail anyway!”
“Is that an admission of guilt?” Lei raised an eyebrow.
“You know what, Super Cop, FUCK YOU!”
Cheyenne then used this opportunity to get free. She grabs the man’s testicles, squeezing him, as he drops his weapon, freeing Cheyenne. Cheyenne grabs the gun, kicking it toward the police. Lei signals her to step out of the room as the police then storm the room arresting everyone involved.
Once everything was calmed, Cheyenne is approached by Lei who immediately embraces her tightly, not wanting to let go.
“Oh thank the ancestors that you are safe! Did Jeffrey do anything to you?”
Cheyenne shook her head. “No, he wasn’t able to…”
“That’s good to hear…”
She noticed Lei checking her arms, as well as shining a little light in her eyes with a pen-flashlight. “Uncle Wulong, what is this?”
“I’m checking to see if they dosed you.”
“They didn’t do anything.”
“That’s good.” He places a hand on her shoulder. “How did this happen?”
“Look, I saw an ad for a modeling gig and I_”
Lei sighed, interrupting Cheyenne. “You fell for it! That was close! Do you not know what Jeffrey Wo does to young girls like you? He forces them to shoot a pornographic scene, and then he injects them with heroin, forcing the girls to become dependent on the drug! Then he has absolute control of the girls, making them dependent on heroin. Making them do unspeakable things! Making them do his bidding! And once he’s done, he’ll kill them, and dispose their body in a dumpster, making it look like they died of heroin overdose!”
Her eyes widen.
“But that didn’t happen to you.” His eyes narrowed.
“How did you find me?” She finally spoke.
“Officer Yong was at the hotel when he saw you check-in. He told me that a ‘cute young girl’ checked in, wanting to go meet with the modelling agency. I didn’t think that cute girl was you.” Lei sighed. “We immediately knew that Jeffrey Wo was there. I’m glad we got there when we did.”
“I’m still a virgin.” Cheyenne blurted.
“What?” Lei was confused. “Wait… Cheyenne? You’re a virgin?”
She didn’t understand why her uncle was so confused about this. Shouldn’t he be glad.
“Um… I told you, they never got a chance to do anything, let alone take off my clothes…”
“So… you mean to tell me? That you haven’t ever had sex?”
“Why are you surprised?”
“I mean… I uh… kind of figured with your age… you’ve probably already been around the block a couple of times.” Lei rubs the back of his head, grinning sheepishly as he looked away.
“UNCLE WULONG? ARE YOU CALLING ME A SLUT?” Cheyenne shouted.
“No, no, no. It’s just… most people your age already have had sex several times. But anyway, Cheyenne… if you do decide to have sex, promise me that you’ll use protection? Alright?”
“Okay.” She said, smiling. “I will.”
“Anyway, I have to get back to work. Okay? Please go home. Alright? We'll talk more about what happened when I get home. Alright?”
“Okay.”
Cheyenne then watched as her uncle left. She was just about to get in her car when a young man in a plain white tee and denim pants approached her.
“Miss Lei?”
“Yes?”
“I’m Officer Yong, um… your uncle asked me to look after you.”
Cheyenne smiled. “Oh, you’re the guy who called me cute and saved my life!”
Officer Yong looked away, blushing. “Well, I mean…”
“Don’t be shy! I don’t bite. Since my uncle sent you to babysit me, why don’t we go out for dinner?”
“Um… sure…”
“And I know just the place!” she smiled.
Cheyenne then spent the rest of the day hanging out with Officer Yong. She learned a valuable lesson. Never go check out a Craigslist ad alone. Also, don’t trust everything you see on the internet.
Though it made one thing clear: The King of Iron Fist Tournament is her best shot into stardom.

Random Groundhog Day Special
Pain seared throughout his body as Lei was barely clinging to life. His breathing labored as his vision was blurred from the blood loss. He managed to stand up to his feet, holding onto his now dislocated shoulder as he rolled his head, getting a good look at his opponent.
“Impressive. You’re still alive. This is why you’re my favorite.”
“Of course.” Lei smirked in spite of his injuries. “You know I’m extremely difficult to kill.”
“Let’s finish this once and for all, partner.”
Lei nods.
The two then charge in for a final decisive blow. Bryan shouted “Yahoo” as he lunged forward to send in a fatal blow, as Lei did the same, delivering a fatal strike at Bryan’s torso. As their attack landed, the air was unusually still as Lei and Bryan both stared at each other for the last time.
The shrill of his alarm woke him up. Lei immediately jumped from his bed, as he placed his hand on his forehead. He noticed that his arm was fine and he had no wounds. He also noticed Elise waking up next to him.
“Good morning, Wulong. Happy Birthday!”
Lei was confused. His birthday was yesterday. He didn’t know exactly what happened. Was that a dream?
“Thank you.” Lei glanced at his phone. It was exactly 5:31 AM and today’s date, May 17, 2020. This is his 48th birthday. Perhaps that was a dream. “Well, too bad… I have to work today. But um… we will do something fun tonight when I get off, okay?” He smiled as he snakes away from Elise.
“Sounds good to me.”
Lei eventually went through his morning routine. Everything seems so familiar. He got ready for work and arrived there to work on his case as everyone greeted him. Lei could have sworn that those were the exact same balloons on his desk that he saw in his “dream”. This could only mean one thing.
Perhaps I’m psychic… He thought to himself.
As he sat at his cubicle, Lei then looked at the files on his desk. Didn’t he… arrest this guy already? Or was he dreaming? He flipped through his notes, trying to make sense of this. He remembers where they caught the guy. Should he go there?
“Probably not yet.” Lei said to himself. “We’ll see how the day goes.”
He leans back in his chair, resting the back of his head on his forearms as he dozed off. Before he could do anything, someone poked him in the cheek.
“Hey! Lei! Yo! Someone wants to see you!”
“Let me guess… it’s a witness who knows where the suspect is?”
“Y-ye_”
“Really? Seriously?” Lei jumped. According to his dream, that was how he caught the suspect in the first place. The witness’ name… Leila Ju. Putting his theory to the test:“Um is her name Leila Ju by any chance?”
“…” the secretary was silent.
“Well, um… that was awkward. I’ll um… go see her then.”
After Lei met with the witness, scaring her as he seemed to know everything. He recalled where the suspect was and what he was doing, so he got a leg up and managed to arrest the suspect. He didn’t have to do a crazy chase at all. After work, Lei returned home as planned, as Elise did the same thing they did and they ate at the same restaurant that they ate, ordering the exact same dish. However, what Lei doesn’t remember happening is Bryan interrupting the two while they were at dinner, starting a fight.
The fight didn’t happen as Lei remembered, as now civilians were involved. Lei tried to help them escape as Bryan was terrorizing everyone. Eventually, once Elise was taken as hostage, Lei immediately snapped.
“There, that’s the Lei Wulong I know…”
Lei bared his teeth in anger, watching helplessly as Bryan snaps Elise’s neck in two. The two then proceeded to fight in their dual as planned, Lei hellbent on revenge and anger as the two managed to injure each other. Finally, just on the edge of their life, the two proceeded to perform a final fatal blow to each other, staring at each other once more as the light faded from their eyes.
The shrill of his alarm woke him up. Lei immediately jumped from his bed, as he placed his hand on his forehead. He noticed that his arm was fine and he had no wounds. He also noticed Elise waking up next to him. She’s alive? What happened?
“Good morning, Wulong. Happy Birthday!”
Lei then started laughing as Elise didn’t know what was so funny. At that moment, Lei forgot that he literally just watched his fiancée die in his dream and realized that he’s doomed to repeat his birthday again while everyone around him had no memory except Bryan. But why?
“What is so funny?”
“You literally just wished me happy birthday three times now.” Lei smiled.
Elise was confused. “Okay… but… should we do something fun tonight?”
“Yeah. Wait until I get off work.”
As Lei did his usual routine, he then decided to use this opportunity to figure out why he is doomed to repeat the same day over and over and over again, and try and figure out why Bryan seems to know about this. Lei was in his chair, laying back, collecting his thoughts together as on cue, the secretary poked Lei in the cheek again. Lei sighed, standing up.
“It’s time to catch the suspect already! Gee whiz! I didn’t even have time for a nap!”
The secretary just stared at Lei in confusion as the man seemingly knew exactly where to go. Lei met with Leila and simply told her that he doesn’t need to speak to her. He sets up a trap for the suspect and apprehends him immediately.
Lei was able to get off work early, and he knew that Bryan probably figured out that he and Elise went on a date at a fancy restaurant. In order to protect himself and Elise, he managed to convince the woman to stay in tonight to her dismay. While the whole staying in for date night seemed to work, Lei was not expecting his apartment to get blown to bits, himself inside.
The shrill of his alarm woke him up. Lei immediately jumped from his bed, as he placed his hand on his forehead. He noticed that he was still in one piece he had no wounds. He also noticed Elise waking up next to him. And his house WAS STILL IN ONE PIECE!
“Good morning, Wulong. Happy Birthday!”
Lei smiled, happy to see that Elise is alive and wishing him another happy birthday. She really doesn’t remember dying. However, a thought crossed his mind.
“Why don’t we celebrate my birthday right now?”
“Are you sure? You will be late for_”
Lei kisses Elise.
Lei eventually shows up to work late. He gets reprimanded by his superior, but it was fine. Lei knows where the suspect is located. After sitting in his chair for a moment, just trying to figure out how to make it through the day without himself or Elise dying, he gets poked in the cheek again.
Why do I never see it coming?
Lei then took this as a cue to go on and arrest the suspect without even talking to the witness. He gets off work and manages to convince Elise to go stay at a hotel with him. However, the second Lei started his car, it exploded.
The shrill of his alarm woke him up. Lei immediately jumped from his bed, as he placed his hand on his forehead. He noticed that he was still in one piece and he had no wounds. He also noticed Elise waking up next to him.
“Good morning, Wulong. Happy Birthday!”
Lei rolled his eyes sighing as he crawled out of bed. Elise followed him as Lei went about his morning routine. He was really tired of this. Lei wrote a note to Bryan on his car, instructing him to meet him somewhere.
Lei got poked again, arrested the suspect, and arrived at his apartment to change his clothes.
“Wulong what is wrong with you? You seem to be sour! Did something traumatic happen to you on your birthday?”
Lei sighed. He could tell her all he wants, but she is going to forget.
“Look, Elise… I know this sounds crazy, but for some odd reason I keep repeating the same day over and over again. And the worst part… you don’t remember anything!”
“That explains why you were so dismissive.” Elise said. “How many times have you been stuck in this loop?”
Lei was surprised that Elise seemed to understand it, but the woman is an intelligent scientist. So of course she knows.
“I lost count. I think it’s been a week now.”
“You poor thing.”
“The worst part. The cycle resets after I die. Wait a second!” Lei realized something. “Bryan and I killing each other triggered this! OH! What if we break the cycle by becoming friends and sparing each other!”
Elise shook her head. “I doubt that will do any good. Perhaps Bryan has a built-in time-machine inside his chassis that allows him to reset time every time he dies so that he can learn from his mistakes. I think you were in close-proximity of the machine… probably why you were affected… I suppose Bryan realizes this now, and tries to kill you while you try to avoid him.”
“Or my ancestors are trying to teach me a lesson.”
“Next time you face Bryan, try and figure out what that time-machine of his does.”
“I’ll keep that in mind.” He kisses Elise quickly on her lips. “Look, we need to figure something out.” Lei wasn’t sure how to communicate with Elise in different timelines. “If I make it back, that means I stopped the loop… if not… I will see you in the morning.”
Lei then arrived at his destination confronting Bryan. The two assumed their fighting stance.
“Alright, Bryan, what’s going on?”
Bryan smiled. “That’s what I want to know. You know… I’m actually getting bored of this whole… killing you thing now. It was fun at first, but now it’s gotten a little stale. Time to move on to something new.”
“So? We’re not going to kill each other?” Lei raised an eyebrow.
“We need to get to the bottom of this. Something triggered the event. But what?”
Lei was trying to think back to the first loop. He tried to notice something out of the ordinary. He couldn’t put his finger on it.
“Elise says she thinks you might have some built-in time machine that resets the day you die so that you learn from your mistakes.”
“Is that even possible?”
“You are a highly advanced cyborg. Anything is possible. So far, Elise’s theory seems to hold up.”
“So she may be of use after all.”
“How about we just call it a night and just don’t kill ourselves.”
Bryan shrugs. “Okay.”
Lei shook his hand. “Good.” He smiled. “Looks like we’ve figured it out.”
Bryan then stabs Lei in the gut, and quickly shoots him in the head.
The shrill of his alarm woke him up. Lei immediately jumped from his bed, as he placed his hand on his forehead. He noticed Elise waking up next to him.
It didn’t work? What the hell?
“Go_”
“Elise! Listen to me, this might sound strange, but Bryan and I have been trapped in a time-loop and we need your help to get us out!” Lei blurted.
Elise sat up. “Time-loop? This kind of thing only happens in the movies. Is this a joke?”
Lei did not expect Elise to have a totally different reaction to his comment. “You believed me when I told you the last loop! Why do you suddenly not believe me now?”
“Okay, Wulong… if you were indeed trapped in a time-loop, tell me, what were we going to do today?”
“You were going to treat me to eat at The Verandah.”
Elise gasped. “Saint Mary! This is a real thing!”
Lei shrugged. “I lost count. But look, Bryan and I need your help. But the problem… you don’t remember anything.”
“Okay, listen, let me go and grab my notebook and coffee. We can figure this out.”
Lei then wrote a note to his superior detailing him where the criminal was as he Elise, and Bryan were all trying to figure out the time loop. It was nice having two brilliant people trying to figure this out. Lei was having nostalgia working with Bryan again.
“All we know is that ultimately Bryan kills me, thus resetting the cycle.”
Lei had a poorly drawn image of himself and Bryan as stick figures dying on his whiteboard in his home-office.
“We have no idea why this happens.” Bryan added.
“Um, maybe if you two just stop killing each other, it won’t happen.” Elise retorted.
“We literally tried it last night! But Bryan here, couldn’t resist! He had to kill me!” Lei whined.
“The look on your face when you got stabbed was priceless!” Bryan smiled.
Lei then had an idea. “Hey! Guys! What if we just repeat the original loop, and analyze what happened. Try and find something unusual. Because we’ve been screwing with the timeline, we can’t remember anything! Bryan, go ahead and interrupt Elise and I on our date. I’ll go and try and find something odd. Bryan, you do the same. We should repeat this several times until we find the missing link.”
“Alright then! Let’s go kill each other! Woohoo!”
Bryan draws out his gun, shooting Lei square in the face without warning as Elise gasped.
Lei and Bryan both repeated the same initial timeline, following the script until eventually, Lei and Bryan met up one more time to discuss their findings.
“Bryan, I think I know how to break this loop.”
“You do?”
“I sent Elise off, before we had our duel. What if… maybe… Elise confided in my brother?”
“What does this have to do with anything? What can that old geezer do?”
Lei frowned at Bryan’s insult for his brother. “If you didn’t know, my brother became Drusilla’s apprentice, and he’s now a sorcerer.”
“Sorcerer?”
Lei nods. “What if… maybe he put a spell on us? Dooming us to repeat the same day over and over… until we learn something.”
“And what is it?”
“We actually make a very good team if we work together and cooperate instead of killing each other all the time.” Lei smiled.
Bryan couldn’t help but smile. “You’re right.”
“What do you say, partner? Put it there, pal? You don’t have to around causing destruction and mayhem. Why don’t we put our differences aside?” Lei then reached his hand out.
Bryan looked at Lei, then at his hand. He hesitantly takes Lei’s hand shaking it. However, Bryan pulled Lei in for a headlock, snapping his neck in two.
The shrill of his alarm woke him up. Lei immediately jumped from his bed, as he placed his hand on his forehead. He noticed Elise waking up next to him.
Lei then grabs his phone and immediately called his brother. 'Elder Brother Fulong! Is this a joke to you? What the Hell is happening?'
'What are you talking about?'
'Listen to me! Bryan will never cooperate with me! I tried! Nothing even works! So please, will you let us die in peace!'
'Oh… I get it now. So… you die today?'
'Yes.'
'On your birthday?'
'Yes.'
'Hmm… so that protection spell does work.'
'I FUCKING KNEW IT! YOU CAST A SPELL ON ME!'
'For your own protection. The last thing I need is for you to die before your time.'
'How do you reverse it?'
'Don’t die.'
Lei groaned. 'I tried! Like fifty fucking times!'
'Wow, you really are stubborn. Don’t you see, this is a gift! And opportunity for you to live longer and experience the joys of life. I tell you what, call me tomorrow morning, and I’ll talk about reversing this spell.'
Lei then hung up, even more frustrated than before.
“Wulong, is everything okay?”
“My brother cast a spell on me that basically forces me to live out the same day I die until I figure out how to survive!”
“Judging by your reaction, you have probably been here for close to a month now.”
“Wow, you actually believe me! Well, in the other timeline, you didn’t believe me!”
“Were you pissed and angry?”
Lei shook his head. “Actually, I wasn’t.”
“Probably why. So, you say you are going to die today. How do you die?”
“Bryan Fury.”
“Have you done anything to prevent your death?”
Lei nods. “Yes. He blew up my car, blew up the house, shot up everyone in the police station, he even gave the suspect that I catch today a gun! Like the worst part is that he’s in on it, too? If this spell affects me, why is Bryan in on it?”
“Are you sure this is a magic spell and not Bryan’s time-machine?”
“You say every time I bring up Bryan! You must really think it’s a time-machine!”
“That is more reasonable than some magic spell…”
Lei rubbed his temples. “You know what, Elise, you don’t have to believe me! I’m sick and tired of repeating MY FUCKING BIRTHDAY! I’m so done now! You know what, I’m going to kill myself and start my day again, because this is clearly off to a bad start!”
Lei then stomps off, and grabs his gun, shooting himself.
Eventually, Lei gets tired and bored of reliving his birthday and getting killed by Bryan until he finally figures out how to stop the loop. Since there was no way of convincing Bryan to stop trying to kill him, Lei figured that the best option is to go out of the country. Lei manages to convince Elise to go with him as the couple travel to China to go see his brother. However, the airplane crashes, killing everyone on board.
Lei groaned as he woke up, rubbing his forehead. “DAMNIT! THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO WORK! WOW, I GET IN A PLANE CRASH! WELL, FUCK YOU, TOO GRANDPA!” Lei looked up at the sky, holding up his middle finger.
However, Lei noticed that the ceiling wasn’t his own ceiling, and that he was in a hospital. Lei noticed Elise, Pai, and Li-Mei all standing over him.
“Um… so… we didn’t die in the crash? Elise… you look fine… Pai…? Li-Mei? What the Hell?”
Pai had Li-Mei’s ears covered as Elise was speechless. “Wulong, there was no plane crash. You were in a coma for over a month.”
Lei tilted his head in confusion. “What?”
“Bryan attacked us. During our date. You fought him off and managed to protect me.” Elise said. “But you ended up in a coma.”
“Was this on my birthday?”
“Yes.”
“Hmmm… so… I wasn’t trapped in a time-loop. I was just in a coma… dreaming about what happened.” Lei said outloud. “I see.” He smiled.
“You had a dream about Groundhog Day?” Pai asked in confusion.
“Yeah.” Lei smiled. “But I’m glad that I’m back in the real world now.”
Happy Groundhog Day Folks!
