Three months have passed since the tournament on the ship. Lei hasn't been quite the same ever since. Never in his life has he seen something so atrocious and so horrifying, yet it was just a dream. But it seemed so real, and Lei's nightmares have still continued. It wasn't the Esphelhar, no. It was something else... something much worse: himself. However, Lei managed to occupy himself with the task of taking care of his newly adopted son, Lei Shun. He's an orphan that Lei had rescued from an underground sex ring. The poor child was a victim, but thankfully, Lei managed to save him before the child was permanently scarred from his experience. It wasn't just Lei though, he and a team of brave detectives also jumped in and stormed the facility and saved 28 adults and children. With Shun's cooperation, they managed to put those responsible behind bars. Lei and Elise both were assigned the task of looking after him as they were when they took care of Giorgio. Since Shun was Eurasian, he fit perfectly with the family. When all was said and done, Shun was about to go to the orphanage, Lei had stepped in and decided to adopt the child himself, knowing what's best for him. Plus, Lei found himself quite attached to this child, as Elise was attached to Giorgio. Giorgio returned to her mother, after Anna was resurrected and now she's tackling the huge responsibility of parenthood.
Shortly after the tournament, Lei immediately eloped Elise upon their return to Hong-Kong. It was mostly just so that she could legally live in the city-state, and be able to get herself a job and seek employment. Lei also moved into a larger apartment as well, expecting Katya to move in with them, only to have her return to Italy with Claudio and Daniel, her lover. Lei trusted that they were going to protect her from Kazuya, and in the meantime, find a cure for her "affliction". Things went smoothly for the couple until Jin approached Elise with a job for the Mishima Zaibatsu. At first she declined the offer, as Lei tried to convince Jin to find someone else. However, Elise eventually agreed. As a result, Elise had left Hong-Kong and moved to Tokyo. She would go and visit Lei on occasion whenever she could.
With the current hostile situation in Hong-Kong, Lei was too busy dealing with domestic issues. He was no longer able to do detective work, but instead, tasked with keeping the peace. Due to political turmoil indirectly involved with the war in Japan, China decided to take advantage and try and take over Hong-Kong. It violated the "one country, two systems" law, as Hong-Kong would no longer be democratic, and be a communist nation. Everyone is protesting and fighting against this takeover, as Lei found himself caught in the middle of it. There were riots before, when Jin declared war, but this time... cops are getting killed left and right. Rioters are bombing up police cars, throwing bricks through the windows, and even setting things on fire. Elise was understandably worried, but the woman had faith that Lei was going to endure. After Kazuya is eliminated, he and Elise were going to proceed with IVF. Hopefully things will be peaceful and combed over by then.
Lei's been looking quite disheveled these days, letting himself go. He would only be able to sleep for a few hours at time, wouldn't be able to shave as much as normal, and his greying hair was more visible, due to his new hairstlye that he adopted. He didn't have time to maintain his hair, so he cut it and pulled it back. It was still growing, but Lei just didn't have time for anything. Lately, it's been totally up to Cheyenne to help do all the housework and child-rearing that Lei has neglected to do.
Lei returned to work, tired, exhausted, with every bone in his body aching. He literally stood on hard concrete for 10 hours straight with little breaks. He was hurting, and needed to rest. But the only person there to greet him was an understandably concerned Cheyenne. Wanrei was lucky he didn't get stuck with dealing with protesters as he was with his new girlfriend, Julia. Lei never imagined that the two would get together. But he was very happy for them. Lei honestly would rather have Elise be there to greet him, but she's all the way in Japan.
"Uncle Wulong! What the hell is wrong with you?!"
Lei let out a groan.
"Look, you need to go on vacation! Seriously!"
"I can't... Hong-Kong needs me to handle the protestors..."
"You're the Super Cop! You should be out there investigating crime!"
"We're short on public officers. We've got our detectives doubling up on the crimes."
Cheyenne rolled her eyes. "Can't you at least request an assignment?"
"I made an oath to protect and serve. That includes suppressing riots and protecting my fellow officers and civilians from sudden acts of violence."
She watched as Lei took off his gear and sauntered up the stairs straight to the bedroom. Lei was too tired to take off his clothes and simply passed out in the bed. Everything was so exhausting, and maybe Cheyenne was right. Lei needed another vacation. He needed to do some investigating. But he couldn't. All because of Kazuya. For that reason, that man had to be stopped. No matter the cost.

Lei got up the next morning, barely awake. He had done his routine shower and prepared breakfast for everyone. Lei had prepared himself some coffee as a desperate attempt to wake up.
Afterwards, Lei had to take his two children to daycare. It was far too dangerous to let them go down to the bus stop, so Lei had to personally escort the pair.
Once Lei reached the school, he parked his car and escorted the two kids into the building. He held both Li-Mei, and Shun's hands. Once inside, Lei let both of his kids go. He crouches in front of Li-Mei trying to get eye-level with the cherub.
"Now, Li-Mei, be a good girl and study your writing. And show good manners, too." He wags his index finger. "Remember, you're supposed to go home with your mother today."
"Yeah! I got all my stuff in my bag!"
Lei kisses her forehead. "Take care and I will see you Sunday."
Li-Mei then hips off into the toddler's room.
Li-Mei stood still before Lei then turned to his much taller 11-year-old son. He affectionately ruffles his hair.
"Shun, Cheyenne should be coming to get you today. So as you know, Li-Mei's going to be with her mother for the weekend."
"So, I'm not walking home?"
"It's far too dangerous. I think it's best that Cheyenne comes to get you. We're having instant ramen for dinner tonight."
Shun groaned.
"Look, I don't have time to cook. I'll make it up to you one day. But right now, I just need you to fix the ramen. I'm not going to be home until 8 tonight."
"Yeah. Dad, please. Can you do me a favor?"
"Yes."
"Take care of yourself. Please. I know Mom isn't around to take care of you, so it's very important that you take care of yourself, okay?"
"I'll do my best."
"Instant ramen noodles five days in a row... You're slipping."
"Yeah. Well, anyway, Shun..."
Lei then spun around, placing his hands on the back of his head as he adopted a feminine pose. "See you next time..."
He then waves both hands as he smiled. "Byeee!"
Shun rolled his eyes. Ever since Elise left for Japan, Lei has been even more dorky about Lucky Chloe. He never really cared for that idol from the land of the rising Sun, but her bright cheery nature probably brightens Lei's day.
Once Lei left the daycare he headed off to work. It was going to be another long day, Lei could tell.
However, Lei noticed something wasn't right about these protestors. It wasn't before Lei noticed a huge weapon. He watched as a grenade was launched in the air. Unfortunately, Lei had his sunroof open and the grenade fell through and landed right in his coffee.
"Well, shit."
Thinking fast, Lei quickly opened the door, and jumped out just as it exploded. The force of the blast sent Lei flying, as well as nearby pedestrians and cars were effected.
Lei laid there on his side as his attackers soon approached him. Lei was immediately greeted with a gun to the face.
"You're a tough son of a bitch, aren't you?"
Lei yawned as he got himself in a comfortable sleeping position. His attackers were surprised by his laid back attitude. "I'm just going to lie here and take a nap, okay?"
One of the attackers looked at the man with the gun and they both discussed what to do and what should be done.
However, Lei quickly twisted his body and kicked the guy with the gun, grabbing his weapon as Lei quickly disassembles it.
"Alright, you asked for it!"

The flight lasted nearly half the day but it may as well have been an entire week. Regardless, Raven made it to Hong Kong in record time around evening time. After landing on a private airfield, he climbed out of the cockpit and grabbed all his belongings, a midnight Nissan Maxima waiting for him. Raven's personal favorite.
Standing near the car was an informant, a letter in hand. "Good evening, Mr. Raven. I have everything you've requested in the vehicle." He got out a set of keys. "Please inform us if you require anything else during your stay."
Raven nodded and took the keys. "Will do."
Without another word, Raven entered the car and sped off into the heart of the city where the Hong Kong branch of the UN was waiting for him. Thoughts of his family, mainly Tatyana occupied his mind the entire trek. He can only imagine what Carla was going through. The poor girl has seen enough to scar her mind for life, yet she refused to let it dampen her spirit. Lord knows there will need to be a lot of counseling sessions for Carla after this entire ordeal.
For now, there was business to attend to.

"HAIYOOOOOOHHHH! HAIYAAAAAAH!" Lei shouted as he took out several of his attackers at once.
Lei maintained his fighting stance as his seven opponents recovered. Lei figured that these men were a group of thugs, taking advantage of the riots in order to send Lei on a permanent vacation.
Lei wondered who sent them. Lei had a lot of enemies and he couldn't hardly narrow the list down. However, knowing that they fragged his car, it had to be someone who knows Lei. That narrows it down to several criminals.
Before Lei could think he was socked in the face by a hook to jaw. Lei staggered back a little as two thugs came in behind him and held him down. Lei took several hits as each thug took turns using him as a punching bag. Lei grimaced as each blow to his already sore body stung.
Lei did eventually get free by using his entire body weight to do a swinging kick. Lei then rolled backwards before eventually doing a rolling tumble and headbutt the opponent.
Lei then got himself situated in Snake Stance, as his back was turned to the wall. Lei had a calculated plan to get out of this one alive.

The drive downtown was exactly what Raven expected to be. Every turn had some sort of civil disturbance involving civilians and the police. This could only be kept up for so long before the city erupted in flames. Raven managed to park his car in a safe spot away from the ruckus and quickly made his way toward a combustible situation, a gang of teenagers surrounding two officers. He teleported into the fray in front of the crowd before they could inflict harm on the peacekeepers.
"Step off, if you know what's good for you," Raven warned, ready to fight if the need arose.

Lei managed to take out several of his attackers with ease. However, they soon figured that they should start shooting him. Lei retaliated by brandishing his weapon, and shooting a sign. It fell onto his attackers, knocking them out as it gave Lei the freedom to escape. Lei then ran down the alleyway, running into people, and waving as he tried to get lost in the crowd. This jacket Elise bought him before she left for Japan, proved to be lucky. It's been giving Lei some luck. He survived an exploding car, and didn't get shot. Now, he has to somehow figure out who hired those thugs.
However, Lei took sight of a ninja materializing out of nowhere. It was Raven. What is he doing here? Lei thought.
Lei watched as this situation unfolded before announcing his presence. Does this have to do with his attackers? Lei knew those thugs weren't protesters. Somebody out there wanted him dead and they're taking advantage of the political turmoil going on in Hong-Kong, hoping to cover up his murder.

The thugs wasted little time attacking. Raven merely let out a quiet sigh, knowing these clowns were no match for him.
"Don't say I didn't give you a chance," he said.
Methodically, Raven began dissecting each thug with basic, but devastating attacks, making sure not to be lethal in his approach. Every member was disarmed of their weapons, allowing the UN agent to incapacitate them with relative ease. All seven thugs were rendered unconscious, making them easy arrests for the police.
Raven looked on passively as they were hauled away.

Lei didn't quite step in as Raven pretty much had the whole thing handled. Once the thugs were escorted and taken away to police custody, Lei finally approached Raven.
"Hey, man... The way you fight... I just can't get over it. Anyway... So... Any reason why you're here in Hong-Kong? Did the UN really need you to help suppress the riots in Hong-Kong?"

Lei nods. "Well, this is Hong-Kong after all." He rubs the back of his head nervously. "Though I do wonder... Why did someone blow up my precious sedan? How am I supposed to take the kids to day care now?"
Lei groaned and sighed. "You don't have any idea who would want to kill me, do you?"

Lei watched as Raven left to deal with the violent protestors. Lei initially joined him to help him out. However, Lei realized that he had to figure out who it was and why they wanted to kill him. Leaving Raven to handle the protestors, Lei made his way to the police station, with a lot of difficulty.
As he made his long trek, Lei noticed all the missed calls he had, as well as a text message that was sent to him from Elise just a day ago. And another one just sent a few hours ago. It said that she was coming back to Hong-Kong for a day. And a follow-up text saying that she's at the airport and needs a ride. That was a few hours ago.
"Shit!" Lei cursed. "I haven't even shaved in well over a week! What if she doesn't recognize me! There's no food at the house! She's gonna be pissed!"
However, he was going to deal with his wife later. Right now, he had more important things to worry about.
Lei eventually arrived at the station, as his assistant greeted him. "Det. Lei! Dr. Kristov_"
"I know. I get it. I'll deal with that later. Right now, I need to interrogate some people."
Officer Vivienne Ngoh, was his new assistant. Lei had a replacement for Chou-Su, so he picked a female fresh out of the academy, with the assumption that Elise wouldn't dare cheat on him with a woman this time. Oh boy, how wrong he was. When Lei found out that Elise was also bisexual, he couldn't help but laugh. Of course it was his luck that he ends up in a relationship with a woman who is also interested in women. However, Lei found Vivienne to be quite resourceful. There have been rumors that Lei has an affair with Vivienne, but obviously the rumors were nothing but simple office gossip with no real facts behind it.
"Interrogate? Det. Lei! You're working on a case again?"
"Looks like I might have to." Lei said, placing both hands in his pockets. "I was attacked by seven men. And my car was bombed. They were not protestors. They had killing intent in their eyes. Officer Ngoh, I think someone's trying to kill me again."
"But who could it possibly be?"
"The possibilities are endless, but one thing's for sure. Whoever wants me dead at least is as intelligent as I am. This person must also know the ins and outs about the laws. And they must have the resources and access to military-grade equipment. And be able to arm people with said equipment."
"Why that certainly does narrow things down! Who do you think might be responsible?"
"I've only got one person. They're the only person I know who has the means, motives, and opportunity to kill me. All I can think of is Kazuya Mishima."
"Kazuya? Are you sure about that?"
"Think about it. He has an army. He's rich and owns lots of military-grade weapons. He can easily arm a thugh with some grenades. He's intelligent enough to conduct killings on people, and he's above the law. Not to mention, my son threw a wrench into his plans a few months ago. Probably mistook him for me, as did the press. He sees me as a threat to his little 'game'." Lei smiled.
"What are you going to do about it?"
"Well, Officer Ngoh, there's only one option. I have to stop the war."
"You can't be serious! How can you stop the war?"
"I capture Kazuya. Simple as that." Lei smirked. "With the temporary alliance I have with the Zaibatsu, as well as with the UN, we should be able to end the war. Then, after Kazuya is apprehended, we go after Jin and put him behind bars."
"What? You can't be serious!"
"If things go according to plan, the war should be over in at least a few months. With my wife working behind the scenes in the Mishima Zaibatsu... we should be able to stop Kazuya. He knows this. This is why he wants to kill me. All these years, he only saw me as nothing but a thorn in his side. But now that he sees me as a threat... I need to step up my game. My wife is probably going to be his next target once he finds out that I'm alive. Which is fortunate because she just arrived in Hong-Kong. We need to secure her. No doubt Kazuya will raid the Zaibatsu and kidnap her. If she's here in Hong-Kong, she'll be much safer than in Japan. Yes, the Zaibatsu has the military at their disposal. But I'm the only person in this world who can protect Elise. As long as I breathe, no harm will come to her!"
Vivienne jumped at Lei's roaring voice and sudden burst of confidence. She's never seen this side of Lei before. He's always been a bit of a ditz. But now he's serious.
"I honestly should send out a dispatch for the capture of Dr. Elise Kristovitch. For her protection of course. But I honestly think that's not neccessary. Kazuya doesn't know that I'm still alive yet." Lei then huffed. "Perhaps I should fake my own death. He may still target my wife though, but seeing that she will be in Hong-Kong, he's going to have a hard time finding her. And my children, too. Li-Mei will be safe with her mother. Shun should stay with his cousin. And they should go to the Mainland. Yes. I think I know exactly what to do now."
Lei then arrived at the jail cell and instructed to get one of his attackers. Lei roughly drags him out of the cell and into the interrogation room. Lei simply took a seat and gave his attacker a cold glare. "You tell Kazuya Mishima that he messed with the wrong cop. Because I'm coming for his throat. He's next. He started this mess 22 years ago when he killed my partner and best friend! I will finish what I started, and see to it that he gets what he deserves!"

The thugs and wannabe protesters kept coming one after another, yet Raven remained undeterred. Assisting the local police wasn't new to him, especially in high leverage situations. In a little over an hour, Raven had managed to apprehend over 300 protesters and put them behind bars. Most likely they'll stay in jail for a few weeks or months due to not killing anyone. But the fines for property damage and disturbing the peace will be enormous.
Raven was able to catch a breather off to the side, going through his phone. No new messages or phone calls so he expected that there was no new information regarding Tatyana's health. Part of him didn't even want to be here. He needed to be by her side. Yet, there was nothing he could do in her current state. Plus, the world needs all the help it can get.
However, Raven felt a swell of annoyance come over him at the fact that he and the UN had to work hand in hand with the Zaibatsu, the main culprit for this war. It did bring some assurance that if they won, Jin Kazama vowed to turn himself in. Raven much preferred the boy under UN custody and not the local police, knowing damn well everyone on planet earth wanted his head. At least in the UN's hands, no one would be foolish enough to come after Jin.
It was then that Raven got a phone call from Tyra. "Raven, here."
