Chapter 3
The Phoenix woke up the next morning in Southern U.K. She was going to kill a member of the Parliament. The Phoenix was excited. She can’t remember the last time she got to kill someone who had so much power over people. It was going to be fun.
“Ahh, yes. Time to get to work.”
She was surprised at how smoothly yesterday’s operation went. Now today’s operation will be a real challenge. This is the first time that she actually gets to kill someone famous. Unlike yesterday’s operation, she might be in London for over a week, the longest she’s ever stayed in an area. Shes’s usually always travelling across Europe. She has ended up in several of the same countries, but for the most part, she is constantly on the move. But for now, she had to somehow find a way to kill this man inconspicuously. Plus, they were probably heavily guarded by the most elite soldiers. Plus, she’s heard rumors about Margaret Thatcher, UK’s Iron Lady. They were probably going to ruthlessly hunt her down. Unlike the French Mafia, you can’t shut down a government. She’s tried. It never ended well.
The Phoenix steps out the van, and meets with her client. They met at some old abandoned warehouse. Igor found it odd that they would be meeting at some old building. Usually they met somewhere semi-public like a restaurant, a park, or at a movie theater, and even the parking lot of a store. But they were meeting at a warehouse. Igor couldn’t tell her or warn her, as The Phoenix had no problems and no qualms about meeting someone at an abandoned building. After all, this could be a set-up by the French Mafia.
The two enter the warehouse and see several men in suits. It reminded her of when she was confronted with the task of assassinating the boss of the French Mafia. It made sense, as she had been tasked to kill a member of the House of Lords. Perhaps someone from the British Parliament wanted to keep this under wraps.
“What the fuck is this bloody little girl doing here?” One man in the suit asked.
“You rang.” She steps forward, with Igor trailing just behind her.
“You’re the Phoenix? This little girl! Is this some kind of sick joke?”
Another man whispers to the assumed boss. “I know he said she was a small-blonde teen, but he didn’t tell me she was a girl!”
“Listen, buddy. I can do the job. I am an expert in this field. My age makes it easier to do my job. Would you like a demonstration?”
The boss sighed. “Okay, fine. I trust you… So I assume you want your pay.”
The girl nods. “Yes, I would like to be paid before I do a job this big.”
One of the men in suits handed the girl a briefcase, but as soon as she opened it, it didn’t have money. It actually had a device that shot out chloroform gas. As mighty and invincible as The Phoenix is, she went down. Igor draws his gun, and shoots several men, but unfortunately, he gets shot in the back of his head and immediately joined his partner not too long after.
The Phoenix comes to after a long while. She finds herself chained up to a chair sitting close to the edge of the water. She looks around and sees that she is in a shipyard. She noted that they searched her, as her hidden weapons were no longer there. She also saw that she was surrounded by a lot of men, and one man with soft blonde hair in a suit stepped forward.
“Ah, awake you are.” He had a thick French accent.
The Phoenix struggled to get free as it was of no use. She is stuck in this chair. But then she noticed that the chair was made of wood. That was their biggest mistake. But no matter, she was going to let this man have the last laugh.
“So, Phoenix. That’s what they call you. You have a name?”
The Phoenix shakes her head. “I do have one. My full name is The Phoenix. That is all.”
It was the truth. She never really had a ‘name’. She was often referred to by a number and a letter. Like a car.
“You’ve got to have a name! You can’t just call yourself Phoenix!”
“That is my name!” She shouts.
“Fine. I’ll just call you Catherine. Because you look like someone would name you Catherine. But anyway. I brought you here to celebrate. You did me a favor by killing my father, and the man who ordered you to kill my father, and all of his loyalists. You helped straighten things out with us.” He strokes The Phoenix’s cheek as he spoke. “You were really helpful.”
He then walks away. “But unfortunately, I really loved my father. I was very loyal to him. So I’m afraid I’m going to have to kill you.”
He reaches underneath his suit jacket to draw out a silver pistol. He presses it to The Phoenix’s forehead. “Now you see… Once I blow your brains out, I will show the world, that the unstoppable The Phoenix isn’t a phantom. She isn’t some demon or entity. All that she really is just a Russian girl playing ‘pretend-assassin’. That’s all you are. You’re only human.”
The Phoenix sighed to herself. “Then do it. Pull the trigger. Kill me.”
“So eager to die, now are you? Now everyone, take a look here! You are about to witness the death of the unstoppable Phoenix. The very woman who killed my father! Once she dies, we will continue our drug shipments. We’ll transport the women as scheduled. And we’ll ship out the weapons to Russia.”
I gave him his opportunity to kill me. And now he’s just going to gloat about his success… wrong move.
As soon as the man clicked his safety, The Phoenix’s eyes glowed a bright green as her would-be killer found himself suddenly set ablaze, as The Phoenix set fire to the chair that she was sitting in. She was finally free as the boss jumped in the water. Several of the hired muscle approached her, but she kicks several of them. She then climbs up one of them and breaks his nose. She then grabs their gun with her feet and kicks the weapon, knocking out another thug. The boss gets out of the water, and shoots at The Phoenix. She had ran up a thug, jumped on the boss. She had him in a sleeper hold caught in between her thighs.
“I told one of your lackeys to tell you this, but apparently you didn’t get the message, so I’m relaying it to you now: If you ruffle a Phoenix’s feathers, you’ll get burned. So now you know why you died.”
CRACK!
Before he knew it, the boss’s neck was twisted as The Phoenix forced his head sideways. Upon getting up, she shakes the chains off, and grabs the gun the boss had attempted to shoot her with. She shoots the remaining five guys who were not unconscious and after her. She then shoots the other four that were already on the ground. She wanted to make sure everyone was dead before moving on. She finds herself limping and falling and didn’t realize until just now that she had been shot in the leg, and in the gut. She made the long journey back into the urban area, leaving a trail of blood behind as she walked. The Phoenix figured that Igor was already dead and didn’t bother looking for him. She also figured that their van was in police custody or something. So she wasn’t getting it back. With no money, no vehicle, no driver, The Phoenix was up a creek without a paddle. Eventually, she got dizzy, as her vision blurred. She stumbles next to a dumpster and falls over, immediately going unconscious.
She finally comes to, not too long after. She finds herself in a hospital. The nurse who was nearby, checking her vitals gasped upon her awakening.
“You’re awake? Wow…”
“Is that not normal?” She asks, confused at the nurse’s shock.
“Someone found you passed out in an alley, lying in a pool of blood. You suffered some serious gunshot wounds to your upper left thigh, and near your spleen. Thankfully, you survived.”
The Phoenix nods. “I’m glad to hear.”
“So… can you tell us something about yourself?”
“Well…um… my parents named me Catherine… and I’m 16.”
“16? That’s young? What of your parents?”
“I don’t know. They took me away… when I was little… they the people who took me, made me do horrible things…”
“What kind of horrible things…”
“Like… they made me… take off my clothes… suck them off… and… let them rape me…”
“You poor thing!” The woman says in shock.
“Yeah… I wanted to run away, but the boss shot me… while I escaped. I’m free now, though…”
“Do you know who this man is?”
The Phoenix nods. “Yes. I do… but I think he’s dead now.”
“Listen, Catherine. Wait here. I’m going to go get the police. It shouldn’t be too long.”
The Phoenix nods as the nurse left the room. Once she left, the teen got to work, ripping out the IV’s. Her wounds healed nicely, so she didn’t need to stay any longer. She looked around, and eventually decided to make her escape. She opens the window, and jumps out, diving, and landing in a bed of bushes down below. She gets back up, popping her joints back into place before finally catching a taxi that took her to where her van was last seen. Fortunately, it was still there, but Igor was still nowhere to be found. The Phoenix jumps in the van, gets dressed, and grabs her bag of cash, as well as her passport and papers. She couldn’t stay in Europe no longer. The French mafia has reported her face. Everyone knows about her secret identity. So now, she will have to do her business elsewhere.
“How about Tokyo? I’ve heard stories about the Yakuza… this could be fun.” She smiled. “But I have to do a few things first.”
The police had received an anonymous tip from some girl telling them that the French Mafia had been shut down. She tells them where they were manufacturing their drugs, their arms, and their prostitutes. The police entered the drug factory, and found all the women packaging and making drugs were hiding out in a shipping crate. They also noticed that all the drug dealers… their heads were cut off. The women told the police that some girl came in and saved them, and told them that the police were going to be there and take care of the rest of them.
Another location, the French Mafia who were manufacturing the weapons, they found crates and crates of illegal arms. However, they saw that the men responsible had their arms cut off. One of the witnesses also mentioned that a little girl came in and killed them all and cut their arms off. The witness said that she kept him alive so he could tell the cops about it.
Lastly, the prostitution ring was shut down as well. All the men behind it had their penises cut off in the same manner as the decapitated drug dealers and the disarmed arms dealers. The prostitutes mentioned the little girl again and thanked the police for saving them, but most importantly told them that the girl was there first. They said that she ordered them to stay there and wait for the police.
The police then went to look for the girl. She was nowhere to be found. In fact, she doesn’t exist in the records. The police spent months and months looking for her. Still no avail. By then, The Phoenix was long gone. She already left her mark on Europe. Now, her next destination is to go to Tokyo. There, she will work with the Yakuza. After all, she was in a desperate need of a new start.
