Chapter 1 - The Devil Gene Conspiracy

The Sixth King of Iron Fist Tournament ended with total chaos. Azazel was defeated, and Jin Kazama has gone missing. Despite Jin's disappearance, the war between the Mishima Zaibatsu and G Corporation continues to ravage the world. Nina Williams has taken the leadership role of the Zaibatsu, and continues to search for Jin while attempting to defeat Kazuya Mishima. During this time, Ex Cop Lei Wulong came across a journal written by his father depicting vague secrets held by former Mishima Zaibatsu leader Heihachi Mishima. His grandfather had been investigating Heihachi Mishima and The Mishima Zaibatsu for the disappearances of Jinpachi Mishima, Kazumi Mishima, and the then young Kazuya Mishima. The Journal also described to Lei what was secretly known as The Devil Gene. Kazuya was recovered, but the disappearances of Jinpachi and Kazumi had remained mysteries, as did the Devil Gene. Lei hoped to continue the investigation, and properly avenge the death of his father. The Super Cop also hoped that this investigation would aid his longtime friend, Steve Fox, in discovering why he was created. Lei has taken on inside Mishima Zaibatsu scientists, ex employees, family and friends to come together, and solve this mystery once and for all... Fathers and Sons will come together. Mothers and Daughters will be reunited.

A hectic morning it was for scientist Sorin O'Donoghue when he and his father, Antonio, witnessed the escape of the final Devil Gene experiment, SN-95. Not having the clearance for much, Sorin left while his father remained behind to tend to the situation. He, and his close friend Wanrei Lei {Zakk}, went to have dinner to discuss matters important to the son of the Super Cop. It was at a restaurant that they saw the recently retired Anna Williams in a rare outing with her sister, Nina, and their brother, Christopher. Zakk felt the need to keep an eye on the sisters, and Sorin wanted to speak to Anna regarding Project NT02. Sorin Approached Anna, regarding his brother, and what was revealed shocked the scientist. Anna Williams was not just the mother of Project NT02, similarly to Nina's relationship to NT01, but that she was also the child she gave up when she was seventeen years old. 

With this new information on hand, Sorin agreed to help Zakk find out more information on the experiments done using The Devil Gene in an effort to also have them assist in finding his brother, who was revealed to be named Daniel. Lei Wulong met up with his son, Zakk, and Sorin to discuss the Zaibatsu and The experiments. With them was Zakk's unofficial sidekick, Wilson, Anna Williams, and Steve Fox. Sorin gave them the files, which stated the experiments were started by Kazuya Mishima so that they could isolate, control, and synthesize the devil gene to create super soldiers. Sorin also told them that they only knew Kazuya Mishima had it, and that Heihachi did not. Lei theorized that Kazumi Mishima possibly had possessed Kazuya as a vengeful spirit.  Anna agreed to assist Lei in his mission by giving information on Kazuya, so long as he helped her find Daniel. Lei agreed, and put Xianlong to work on finding the lost NT02 Experiment.

Afterwards, Sorin and Anna had a moment alone, where Anna explained to her long lost son that the reason she gave him to Antonio was so that he would not be put into the assassin lifestyle she was forced to lead. The two had an emotional moment...

Shortly after Zakk interrogated Antonio, Antonio met up with the only other surviving scientist who worked with the subjects. Dr. Elise Kristovich. She was the mother of escaped experiment, SN95, and had come to retrieve her daughter and take her home. Antonio arranged for Zakk to come assist them, and Zakk called Lei. Elise told them that she would too assist them in their investigation, if they helped her and Antonio find and rescue Katya. Through a tumultuous night, the group found SN95 {Katya}, and sent her off with her mother to escape the clutches of the Zaibatsu.

The very next day, Lei ran to say goodbye to Dr. Kristovitch and exchange their numbers so that they could have dinner sometime. To his surprise, Dr. Kristovitch decided to stay in Japan for a few more days so she can have the opportunitiy to get to know Lei better. 

Meanwhile, Wilson found a photo of Daniel on a security footage at a hardware store on the outskirts of Tokyo. Zakk informs Sorin of this new information and travels on the outskirts to go meet Daniel. The two finally find him as they lead him to his mother and father. It was then that Antonio suggested to hold a party and invite everyone, as Zakk had invited his father and Steve to the party. Everyone enjoyed themselves as Katya confessed her feelings to Daniel, Anna is restarting her relationship with Antonio, and Lei goes on a date with Dr. Kristovitch. Sorin eventually invites Steve, Zakk, and Wilson to a club where they went dancing. Unfortunately, Sorin was haunted by hallucinations and got sick as the party had to be cut short.

The very next day, Lei managed to obtain information on Kazuya Mishima thanks to Anna's cooperation and years of police work, Lei deducted that Kazumi Mishima is the progenitor of the Devil Gene, instead of Kazuya being posessed by his mother as was his original theory. Lei also got information on the Devil Gene experiments through Dr. Kristovitch and discovered that Katya was Dr. Kristovitch's clone, and that Heihachi had claimed that his motives were for the sake of world peace. Lei discovered that the true purpose of the Devil Gene experiments is to create soldiers who can uphold peace, and be able to inherit the Devil Gene as well, to become powerful enough to stop Kazuya. Lei then decided that he would go find more information on the Hachijo bloodline. 

Also, on that same day, Sorin, Steve, Daniel, and Elysium meet up to go hang out with their grandmother and buy clothes for the opening at the Williams Safehouse. However, Sorin encounters the woman he had met at the club, last night, and ends up having his eye burn. The woman identified herself as Jacinta and told Sorin that she was looking for someone who kicked her out of her home. Sorin eventually tells her his father's home address as the cousins decided to go to Antonio's house. They all find out that Antonio was once part of the Archers of Sirius, and explained that Sorin's power was awakened and that Jacinta is a malignant spirit. He assured the boys not to worry about her anymore.

The following morning, Lei commits himself to Dr. Kristovitch and announces that they are dating to his daughter, Katya, and niece. He later meets up with Helena to go travel to Kyoto to meet with a man who was a servant of the Hachijo family. Though the pair were later kicked out, a song that the man sang later confirmed Lei's theory of Kazumi being the origin of the Mishima Devil Gene. Not wanting to end the day empty-handed, Lei decides to go visit Lee, hoping the CEO of Violet Systems would divulge him more information on the Devil Gene.

The trip to Violet Systems was successful as Lei had met with Lee and received a disc containing all of the Mishima's darkets secrets. Before Lei could read the information, he had been attacked by the ghost of his deceased ancestor from the Ming Dynasty and got to meet up with his brother and learned the truth of his bloodline as well as almost find out what his father was trying to do with the information he learned from Heihachi. Meanwhile, Heihachi had taken back the Mishima Zaibatsu by force and travelled to Italy to meet with Claudio to create an elaborate plot to expose Kazuya and restore the Mishima Zaibatsu's honor, as well as the hunt for Jin. Heihachi also announces the King of Iron Fist Tournament 7, in order to lure out Kazuya. He later formulates a plan to fake his death while Kazuya's spies video tape his death, as well as send Claudio to battle Kazuya to expose the Devil Gene to the world.

The next day, Heihachi Mishima was training in his dojo, when a mysterious figure came in. They fought immediately, and during this battle the man revealed himself to be Gouki. He revealed to Heihachi that he knew Kazumi Mishima, and was fulfilling his promise to her. They continued their battle, with Gouki being the victor. Heihachi survived, and returned to the Zaibatsu. Heihachi had his forces search for Gouki, figuring he would lead him to Kazuya. It was then that Heihachi had the Zaibatsu announce his death, and the cancellation of the King of Iron Fist Tournament 7. Soon after, Claudio and Sorin arrived at the Zaibatsu. While Sorin spoke with his Aunt Nina regarding Anna's status, Claudio revealed intel of something strange in the far East to Heihachi. Heihachi told Claudio that this was the man Heihachi had fought earlier, and not Jin Kazama as Claudio had originally thought. Unsure of what else he could do, Claudio told Heihachi that he was returning to Italy regarding an urgent matter, and that if he needed him to face the Devils, he would come back. Heihachi Dismissed him, much to Claudio's disgust. 

After an unfortunate face to face with the Espelhar, the mirror demon, Claudio was then confronted by a girl demanding to be taken to Jin. He led her to the roof, and allowed himself to be beaten by her. He sensed that she and Jin were close, and believed that if he had her near, Jin would follow, and could be eliminated. Xiaoyu joined the ranks of the Archers of Sirius, and would join Claudio, Sorin, and Antonio on their journey to Italy. 

Meanwhile, Lei Wulong was told meet up with a lead at Tokyo Tower. There, he met a man named Doppo Hachijo, and his son Jiro. They believed that Lei's apartment was bugged by Russian Intelligence, and relocated to a Pizza Parlor. It was there that Doppo revealed that he was Kazumi Mishima's nephew, and that he is of her and Kazuya's bloodline of the Devil Gene. In his tale, he revealed that it was Kazumi's duty to kill Heihachi before he plunged the world into darkness, however she was becoming weaker. Soon after their discussion of both Kazumi and Jinpachi, the group was attacked by Sergei Dragunov. The battle resulted in the restaurant being destroyed, however no one was injured. The loss came with the strong disappointment of Steve, Paul, and Xianlong. 

Meanwhile, Heihachi's plan works in his favor as his opponent from earlier, Gouki, fights Kazuya at the Millenium tower. Heihachi broadcasts Kazuya's Devil form in order to sway the public opinion against Kazuya. However, Kazuya shoots down the satellite and soon public opinion is now against Heihachi. Around the same time, Nina leads a squad of Tekken Force soldiers into Violet systems in order to apprehend Jin Kazama. However, the mission was a failure as Lee escaped the facility with Jin.

Zakk, Paul, Steve, and Julia all help rescue the survivors of the satellite explosion. However, the quartet soon encounter a G-CORP experiment and Zakk quickly collects evidence of the experiments by taking photos and taking a hard drive from a computer as Julia collected some files. The four escape just before the building collapses.

Lei then talks with Heihachi about the incident where he threw Kazuya off a cliff, as well as information on his father's death. It is revealed that Johanna Williams, Nina and Anna's mother, was the one who killed Lei's father. He also revealed that Richard Williams was too busy bombing the Hachijo clan, otherwise he would have hired him for the job. Heihachi requests that Lei releases everything that he tells him and Lei keeps his word. After their discussion, Helena barges in, tracking Lei's current position with his cellphone and she attempts to attack Heihachi. Lei jumps in and intervenes. Heihachi then reveals that Helena killed her husband, not Heihachi. Heihachi just gave out orders and Helena followed them. Helena is angered by the scars and ends up fighting Lei while Heihachi leaves. Eventually, Helena calms down and accepts her husband's death

Heihachi and Kazuya fight to the death in a volcano. It resulted in Kazuya being the victor with Heihachi thrown in lava.

Sometime later, Lei returns to Hong-Kong and writes up his report and findings on his laptop. He gets a phone call from Elise who informs him that seven generations ago, there was a Mediterranean outsider that carried a mutation that both Antonio and Daniel carried. Curious, Lei decides to go contact his brother in order to figure out who their Mediterranean ancestor is and if this might be why the Espelhar was targeted his sixth-generation grandfather.

Meanwhile, on the cruiseship Poseidon, A mysterious woman named Madison Grant announces to the world a fighting tournament in honor of Heihachi Mishima to take place on her cruise ship in four months. All who were to participate in the Seventh King of Iron Fist tournament were invited to compete in this fight on the water, shrouded in mystery...

The blood feud between Nina and Anna Williams has been one that's raged for over two decades. When their father, Richard, was murdered mysteriously, the sisters attacked and blamed eachother. Years went by, with one trying to best the other. It all came to an end in the King Of Iron Fist Tournament 5 with Nina finally besting her little sister in battle. However, even with the war ravaging, the sisters still couldn't find it within them to forgive and forget. It wasn't until Anna began developing symptoms of a severe case of chronic fatigue syndrome that she began to rethink her life choices. She finally decided to swallow her pride, and attempt to work with her sister in order to find out who was the one who murdered their father. Can these sisters put aside their differences for a common goal? Their past would disagree...

Nina and Anna Williams poorly attempted to reconcile when their mother, Johanna, and siblings, Lillian and Christopher, arrived in Japan. The two fought not once, but twice, before Chris and Lillian both decided it best their elder sisters not assist them in finding the killer of their father, Richard Williams. Johanna wanted to meet her newly discovered grandchildren, so Sorin, Daniel, Steve joined their cousin Elysium with Johanna to be treated to a shopping spree after the last fight between Nina and Anna. That was the last time anyone laid eyes on the Williams matriarch. 

Christopher and Lillian became suspicious when their mother was not responding to business calls, and attempted to look for her. This was when Anna hatched an idea. Unknown to her siblings, Anna faked her death in an attempt to protect herself, and to also push her siblings to find their mother and their father's killer. Christopher and Nina discovered the remnants of Anna's apartment, before it was blown up. Distraught by these events, the siblings rested. Anna snuck into the Estate to give her sister, Lillian, a letter written for Daniel and Sorin. Anna always trusted Lillian with her deepest secrets, and thus chose Lillian as the one siblings she would reveal herself to. Lillian agreed to deliver the letter. 

The next day, Lillian and Chris went to a herpetologist to see if it was possible for a snake to attack without being provoked. The woman seemed to want to help, but revealed herself to be an enemy of the Williams family. The woman named Lian poisoned Lillian while Chris was outside, and Lillian was near death when Chris finally intervened and chased Lian away. He called the police, and Zakk arrived on the scene to investigate the attack. While the police were investigating Lillian's attack, and the murder of the real herpetologist, Christopher discovered Johanna's corpse posed exactly the same as his father's was. This was when the siblings knew that the murders of Richard and Johanna, and the attempted murder of Lillian, were connected. 

With Anna "missing" and Lillian in a comatose state, this left Nina and Christopher to solve the murders before Zakk could find Lian. Anna was nearby when Lillian was attacked. Anna went to Dr. Bosconovitch, and discovered her cells were deteriorating as a direct result of the cryosleep she volunteered to be in many years ago. He informed her that Dr. Elise Kristovich, a woman Anna did not particularly care for, had a serum that could reverse these effects. Anna went to Elise, and reluctantly asked for help. Elise agreed, knowing this would help her research progress. The two women talked, and Anna had requested one more thing, owing Dr. Kristovich a favor later. She asked Elise to deliver the letter meant for her children in Lillian's place. Elise agreed to this aswell, and had her daughter, Katya, go on a date with Daniel to retrieve the letter. 

Daniel finally received the letter, and went to his brother Sorin to meet with their mother in the Aokigahara forest. Once there, the boys had a loving moment with their mother, and with her promising to be there for them after she figured out what was wrong with her. They left with hope in their hearts that everything would be okay. Meanwhile, Lian targeted the daughter of Christopher, Elysium. At the safehouse, Lian attempted to poison Elysium, however the two nearly beat eachother to death. The battle ended with Elysium eventually being poisoned and sent to the hospital while Lian was too heavily injured by her opponent to go on fighting...

Lian retreated to a cruise ship called 'Poseidon'. There, she sought refuge with her aunt, Madison Adams Grant, Bryce Adams' sister. Bryce was a victim of Nina's in her early career. Coincidentally, Madison was also the mother of Elysium's dead ex lover, Mike. Madison had Lian rest in a highly secure room, while she dissuaded Zakk on his mission to find and apprehend her niece. 

Meanwhile, Anna met up with Elise to take the serum. After Elise explained the side effects and how it may work, Anna left her with the promise of letting her know how the serum did. Anna returned to her safehouse in the forest, and took the serum. After a while, Anna could feel herself become stronger. She was then confronted by what she thought was Daniel. Anna was rejected by her son, or so she thought, and was heartbroken. Before leaving her, he mentioned that she 'just wasn't Nina'. This burned within Anna. She knew as soon as she was back to full strength, she would confront Nina... One last time.

Anna confronted Nina at the Violet Systems, and the two engaged in their final battle. It was there that Anna revealed to her sister that she was going to finally let this rivalry end. With her focus now on saving the possessed Daniel, she decided to bow out of this lifelong battle with grace; to which Nina respected, and wished her well. However, peace could never last between these sisters when the Demon of Illusion came to taunt Anna, and attacked Nina instead. The demon shattered the block on Nina's mind, and all of her memories came rushing back. After the demon left, Anna ensured Nina was fine, before taking her leave. 

Lillian is visited by a mysterious woman named Madison, while she is comatose. Almost hoping Lillian could hear her, Madison revealed to Lillian that it was her who was directing and using Lian's hatred for the Williams family to get her. While she did not wish ill will to Nina, Anna, or Christopher, she would not get in Lian's way of killing them, if it meant she could kill Lillian. She also reveals that Nina killed Lian's father and felt that it was fair for her to get her revenge. 

Lillian awakens from the hospital and Nina shows up. She reveals to everyone what Madison said to her while she was sleeping. She also reveals that Madison is the mother of Michael Grant, a man whom Elysium was in an abusive relationship with, and believes that Madison wants revenge for what she did to Michael. Nina also reveals that Lana Lei killed Richard Williams. The Williams siblings all figured out a motive to Lian and Madison's actions. Nina then theorized that Madison might be trying to destroy the world as the Kometa executives on the Amphitrite have plotted to do.

The Espelhar | Antonio O'Donoghue | Claudio Serafino

The demon called, The Espelhar, searches for a new host to exact terror to the Exorcist that banished it years ago. God be with anyone who dares stand in the way of such an unholy creature.

When touched by the seemingly innocent, Jacinta, Sorin had experienced an illusion of a man flirting with him, as well as Exorcist abilities unknown to him beginning. It was also in this moment that the Demon called The Espelhar, who was posing as the innocent woman, would find it's new host, Daniel Wolfe. Soon after, it knew it needed to find the Staff that three had, but didn't possess. It would go to Lei Wulong, sensing the blood of the victim Lei Long. It taunted and tortured him, prying into his mind, trying to find the first piece. After being spotted by the peaceful exorcist, it left, knowing Lei had not known where the first piece was. 

It then decided to haunt Ling Xiaoyu. It knew that it needed to distract Jin Kazama, luring him in as a backup host in case Daniel's body shattered from the demon being within him. The two had in common what the Roman Witch had consumed to summon the demon eons ago. The blood of holy light, and the blood of evil darkness....

The Roman Witch, Drusilla Vestalis, came to Japan in the hopes of reuniting with the man that saved her soul, Claudio Serafino. After coming face to face, and him agreeing to help her, she was kidnapped by Espelhar's followers. When Drusilla came to, she found herself tied to a chair, along with Lei's brother, Fulong, and Daniel Wolfe. Daniel soon noticed the dead bodies of Aiko and Sylvia, Matsuo's wife. Matsuo returned to the hut, and revealed that he and his mother were followers of the mirror demon. He sacrificed his wife's pure heart, and his mother sacrificed her dark heart. Matsuo began the ritual, and Drusilla attempted to warn him that he was making the same mistake she made so many years ago. He ignored her, and forced Daniel to drink Sylvia and Aiko's blood. He then used his own bones, paired with the shard attached to Drusilla, to have the mirror demon possess Daniel. 

As the lightning struck, Daniel was no longer present. Only the demon. When it stood, it killed Matsuo, and freed Drusilla and Fulong. It vowed to feed on their fear of what they witnessed that night. As Drusilla attempted to heal herself, Fulong, along with Lei, took her with him to Antonio's home. He revealed to Antonio and Sorin both what happened that night. They were initially in disbelief, until the Demon revealed itself to them, including putting them all through their worst fears. After it had fed, it left them alone. 

The next day, Claudio came to Sorin's. Sorin told Claudio that his brother was possessed by the mirror demon, the same demon that killed Giorgia and Salvi. He attempted to tell his mother, but couldn't bring himself to do it. When Claudio told him he needed to go to the Zaibatsu, Sorin insisted he go with him, so he could talk to Nina. While Claudio spoke with Heihachi, Sorin explained to Nina what was going on, figuring she may be able to explain it better as she knew his mother better than he did. After an angry exchange between the two, Nina dismissed him, telling him to protect Anna as she had more pressing matters at hand.  

With a new apprentice found in Xiaoyu, Claudio makes preparation to return to Italy with Sorin and Antonio, while Drusilla and Fulong prepare to go to Shanghai before Espelhar can get the second piece of the staff. 

Fulong tries to convince Lei to go with him to China to help protect him while he is trying to retrieve the Kali Yuga in order to fight the Espelhar. However, he is unable to convince his brother to go and decides to let Lei finish his business in Tokyo and wait for him to come to China later. Fulong and Drusilla are successful in their attempt as they managed to retreive the Kali Yuga. However, Fulong talks with the oracle who prophesized the death of his grandson, Xinglong, and said that with his death, Fulong and Lei were going to become stronger together.


At the same time, while Claudio was training Sorin, Xing, and Xiaoyu, the Espelhar attacks, wanting to retrieve the ring that Sorin had on his necklace. The Archers and apprentices were unable to fight the Espelhar, and foolishly summoned strong attacks onto the demon of reflection. With a mighty bolt of light, The demon reflected the attack off of it, and sent it straight to Sorin. Claudio managed the contain the attack, but Sorin's life was still in danger. Antonio realized what was happening, and took the ring from Sorin's neck. Unable to hold the attack any long, Claudio let go, and the attack went to the person holding the ring; Antonio. He was sent flying into the air, and the light expanded, destroying the cathedral. 

As the ashes fell, Anna found Sorin digging into the rubble until his fingers bled, searching for his now deceased father. Claudio weakly made his way to the two, as they mourned their very great loss. Sorin eventually found the ring, and broke down into his mother's arms. Xiaoyu came our unscathed, while Xing had been heavily injured, becoming impaled by the rubble. He barely survived.

Meanwhile, off in the distance, The Espelhar watched on. Claudio noticed the demon took the appearance of Antonio, relishing in it's victory...
